The food and staff were excellent. The room was simple but adequate.

Cosy modern. I didn’t see a fireplace but felt like it should have one lol Superb food from main menu and breakfast

Hard to say. Maybe the complimentary shower stuff. We forgot ours and only had two tiny shower gels which wasn’t sufficient for two people. Would suggest wall dispensers in shower- covers all eventualities.

The location for me was good as I was attending a funeral and this was best placed.

I didn't like my check-out. Apart from breakfast which was included in my room rate, I didn't eat at the Hopping Hare as arrangements for food had already been made. However, on checking out, I was advised I owed £44something for food from the previous night. I was absolutely gobsmacked. The lady asked me if I'd had the food, and after I'd confirmed I hadn't, she then said she'd look into what had happened. No apology. Not even from the guy who was stood next to her (who I assume was the owner?). I was made to feel like a criminal - like I'd eaten the food but was trying to get away with not paying. I was not happy at all and am still not. So please be very, very careful if you decide to stay here, you may end up with a bill that isn't yours/charged for something you never had. I wouldn't stay again.
