Our 3rd trip to Bandos, and we just keep coming back!
We’ve stayed at other resorts across the Maldives, but Bandos honestly feels like home to us now. It’s got such an easygoing, cozy vibe, and it feels like they manage to level up their service every single year.
Our stay in August 2026 was just perfect across the board. The rooms are all set in great spots, the food is top-notch, and the whole team makes you feel like family.
Big shoutouts to:
The Gallery Restaurant crew: Incredible food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every single day.
The Dive Centre: Especially Mohamed Amar - thank you so much for the lessons and for genuinely getting us hooked on the underwater world!
The fishing boat captain & crew: Such a fun trip, and a lady in our group even managed to reel in a shark (which went straight back into the ocean, of course).
The little things: Housekeeping coming by twice a day, fresh water restocked daily, and a great AC gym to work off the buffet meals.
Can’t wait to be back again. Huge thanks to everyone at Bandos for another unforgettable holiday!
Just one tiny note for improvement: it would be great to have clearer signs for designated smoking areas around the bins so all guests are on the same page. A few people were smoking on the beach and leaving cigarette butts right in the sand, which was really sad to see in such a pristine, beautiful place.

The beaches, the weather and the villas were perfect, the staff were very nice, the whole place was calm and relaxing, the taste of the foods were very good
The meals didn’t include soft drinks, for a single coke you had to pay 6$, the variety of the foods and the options could have been better.

* Convenient location, only a 15–25 minute speedboat ride from Malé.
* Peaceful and quiet atmosphere with beautiful beach
* Good food at Gallery Restaurant, with varied dinner menus and solid breakfast options.
* Spacious, comfortable rooms with supportive beds.
* Friendly, attentive, and hospitable buggy drivers and staff in the restaurant.
* Access to a gym, tennis court, badminton court, table tennis, and an excellent dive center.
* Comfortable air-conditioned lounge and shower facilities available after check-out.
* The local front desk staff we met were cold and lacked professionalism.
* We were assigned the wrong room type without prior notice and received little proactive assistance.
* Had to wait around three hours before being moved to the room we had booked.
* The new room had ongoing construction next to the open-air bathroom, resulting in a serious lack of privacy.
* Despite raising the concern twice, we had to move rooms again to resolve the problem.
* Although the resort offered a fruit platter and a bottle of wine as compensation, the repeated service failures and poor handling of issues made our 4-night stay unnecessarily stressful and disappointing.
