The bed and pillows were excellent. Staff were very helpful.
The room was very dark and lightning dim. Lounge floor lamp was not working. I had trouble seeing in the cupboard where the glasses, coffee mugs etc were located. I feel it needed to be painted a light colour, it was like looking into a cave. I could not find the fire escape plan anywhere in the room. It’s always a priority of mine when I stay in multi story buildings. The TV did not offer the Australian free to air channels, no apps for any of the usual channels..eg iview, SBS, 7Plus, Nine now. I found this very annoying. I am Australian.

Super comfortable bed, and the shower was great water pressure. A great base to have for exploring Sydney as it's super close to the train and bus stops and there was a taxi rank outside.
The building is old, so some of the walls are pretty thin and the doors too. If you're a light sleeper the noise does travel. The lift is also a little old but it does work, it's just very slow.

Recently renovated in retro 1930’s decore, the hotel is very close to transport and food and convenient for a short stay in Sydney. Access to the hotel and rooms is by app, working well once set up. Rooms are clean and adequate.
While freshly renovated, rooms tend to be dark. The large mirror was leaning on the floor (not yet fixed to the wall). TVs have not been tuned. This seems deliberate as the assumption is that guests will BYO devices for local channels. If you are a member of streaming services, you can sign in… There are plenty of competing properties if these arrangements are no for you.
