Bodrum Blue and the buffet (dinner and breakfast) provide consistently excellent food.
Very comfortable rooms and easy going, unstuffy service.
Our second time and it feels like home.
Both check in and check out were a little awkward and lacked care.
Facilities a little dated compared with other LUX properties.

Lovely stay at Lux Grande Gaube. Staff were so friendly, facilities were great, food was good, room was lovely, we loved the Creole Smokehouse. Special touch for my birthday by getting me a cake.
Location doesn’t surround many things up north so it’s useful having a car! It’s also worth going half board as there aren’t many restaurants around it. We tended to go out for the day but then eat dinner at the hotel. Huge place and it felt a bit quiet when we were there (first weekend of September), bars felt a bit empty.

Lovely property, generally the staff were nice, especially Ashwan at breakfast. I particularly enjoyed the food at BB's, the Bourdin Blue, and the buffet at the Palm Court.
However, I found the dinner options at Beach Rouge and Creole Smokehouse to be just average. The lunch menu at the smokehouse offered better choices (smokehouse esq) than dinner, which primarily consisted of curries. I think some of the lunch options could be a great addition to the dinner menu.
There was also a variety of activities to participate in, I enjoyed the yoga and found the I-Photography workshop helpful.
The cleanliness of the rooms could be greatly improved. There were numerous scuff marks and stains on the walls and phone that could have been cleaned. I also unfortunately had to deal with tiny ants throughout my stay. The first time I called, housekeeping came and sprayed the impacted areas that night. However, the next morning, I awoke to more ants that had now gotten into my suitcase. I called guest services, and they said they'd have housekeeping do a deep cleaning, but ants remained.
I also participated in the Rum Experience, which I did not enjoy. I believe that activity is not suitable for children. Although the property itself was nice, the quality of the room is enough for me to choose a different property if I ever visit Mauritius in the future.
