A beautiful escape in the idyllic Welsh countryside. The charming manor house, surrounded by peaceful grounds and characterful outbuildings, feels secluded, relaxed and incredibly well cared for. We stayed in The Lovage honeymoon suite with our dogs and it was perfect. Having our own private garden was a huge bonus, the minibar was excellent, and the cleanliness throughout was absolutely top standard. One of the biggest highlights for us was just how genuinely dog friendly The Grove is. Our dogs even had their own welcome basket waiting for them, and there are loads of beautiful places to walk straight from the property. It’s the kind of hotel where bringing your dogs feels completely normal rather than simply “allowed”, which makes such a difference. The food was another standout. There are two restaurants and the standard of cooking is exceptional, particularly when you consider the value for money. Breakfast was delicious — definitely try the haddock omelette with a side of black pudding, and the rösti was also excellent. Even the croissants were beautifully fresh. The staff were incredibly accommodating throughout our stay. Ollie was brilliant at breakfast, and we were particularly impressed by the young gentleman who served our dinner. His knowledge of the food and dishes was exceptional, especially for someone so young, and he added enormously to the experience. The combination of beautiful surroundings, fantastic food, genuinely dog-friendly hospitality and excellent service makes The Grove very special. It’s quiet and relaxed without ever compromising on quality. We would absolutely return, particularly with the dogs. A perfect countryside escape and excellent value for the standard of accommodation, food and service.
English breakfast was nothing special but anything else on the breakfast menu was delightful

Nice location . Liked the walled garden .
The room ( Partridge ) did not go below 28c during our stay. We did have a fan, but the two small windows could only open by a few inches . I had checked about room temperatures before we arrived, as it has been very hot in the uk . I was reassured that room would be sound 24C . Whilst I do understand that it’s difficult for the hotel in hot weather, this is an expensive hotel and ‘Pride of Britain’. For this reason it wasn’t a comfortable room to stay in . You could feel the increase in temperature when you went to the top floor from the floor below. We were also asked if we wanted a new paper in the morning . None arrived and we had to ask why it wasn’t there. We were told that the specific news paper we had asked for has a delay on it. I would have expected the hotel to ask / provide ia different news paper if the one we asked for wasn’t available .
