Great location, spacious room, good breakfast, tasty dinner
Despite stating at checkout that we've not used anything from the minibar I've received a message that they're charging me $8 for sparkling water from the minibar. Had to reply to that (we both hate sparkling water and wouldn't touch it for free) and ask for a refund.
It's been refunded and apologies received but just make sure to check your emails and statements for any charges.. ;)

Good size room with 2 beds, very clean and tidy. View of the ocean which was nice. Could hear kiwi during the night! Staff were friendly and helpful.
Mattress was not that comfortable and neither were the pillows.
We ate at the hotel restaurant- unfortunately 3 out of the 4 meals were memorable for not being very good. Would stay again but eat elsewhere!

Great proximity to Paparoa National Park. You can walk to Pancake Rocks from the hotel.
It is divided by a busy road. The restaurant and some rooms are on the beach side and other rooms are across the road (there is a tunnel), but cars are driving fast right in front of your room.

Great location. Good hotel facilities, room more limited.
Room had some cleanliness issues, probably one off. Outside light for unit was malfunctioning so walking upstairs in the dark, no conditioner which I would expect for the price. Not bottle opener. No ice/icebox portion of mini fridge not functioning.Mattress had large label across lower portion which was very noticeable and uncomfortable. Pillows were all same type, so if you weren’t happy with it couldn’t switch for one of the others.
