Chasely Apartment Hotel

We needed 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a car park, kitchen and full-size fridge, close enough to work. Chasely came up in my Brisbane CBD search and was very competitively priced compared with similar properties nearby. Reviews said it was older and could be updated, but it ticked every box, so we booked. I wasn’t disappointed — I was delighted. Easy online check-in and we were notified we could arrive before 2pm, followed by a lovely, warm welcome at reception. The property was built in 1960 and has certainly seen some history, but she comes from an era when things were built to last — and she has, ageing gracefully. The master bedroom is huge, with walk-in robe and ensuite. The main bathroom is also huge, with shower over bath, top-load washer and separate dryer. Wide hallways, comfortable open-plan kitchen/dining/lounge, full air-conditioning and a small balcony. We could even see the river. The apartment was warm and sunny, which I loved, and you can actually open the windows! Yes, the furniture has seen better days and the property could be updated, but everything was clean, comfortable and more than adequate. Personally, I liked its character. So many newer apartments are tiny, clinical and devoid of personality. This one feels like somewhere you could genuinely live comfortably. We washed clothes, cooked family dinners and I even baked a chocolate cake. How much more like home can you get? For us, it was exactly what it said it was and exactly what we needed. 10/10.

Nothing negative from us. I just ran out of room above! The front desk manager told me the new management had only taken over about 10 days earlier, and we found them genuinely warm, friendly and very helpful. The location was also excellent. There is a bus stop right outside — one trip into the city took just 9 minutes from getting on the 411 to arriving, for 50c! Auchenflower Station was about a 10-minute slow walk for me; uphill going there but thankfully downhill coming back. I actually preferred the bus. Park Road restaurants and shops were about a 15-minute walk, the famous Regatta Hotel about 5 minutes away, and from there it was around another 8 minutes to Toowong Village with Woolworths, Coles, Kmart and Toowong train station underneath. I’d happily stay here again and would absolutely recommend Chasely to anyone looking for spacious, comfortable, practical accommodation in a great Brisbane location without paying for unnecessary frills.

Convenient, clean, nice but not too flash that you’re stressing about the kids breaking things

Wish the beds had mattress protectors under the sheets

Light filtering in from street lights through curtains. Kitchen bench top even though clean could probably be updated.

Large spacious room

Car parking wasnt explained well, as no allocated number to park so seemed very random. Paid extra and chose room with view of river, but view not very clear and partially obscurred and only.from one window near end of apartment.
