Did not expect brasserie to be so fantastic, with excellent food and outstanding cocktails.

Room needed a scale! Electric door lock quite finicky to open.

The whole hotel was beautiful and my room was stunning. It had lovely views, beautiful characterful furniture and decor, and lots of space. The restaurant was also very pleasant and got excellent reviews online. I was very happy in the hotel, and thought it was exceptional value.

Absolutely fabulous stay in this beautiful boutique hotel. 5+ stars at a very reasonable price. Historic hotel - the building was originally built in the 1800s but more recently converted from 4 very large apartments to very well appointed hotel rooms. It actually felt like the Four Seasons - every staff member from the concierge/front desk; my favorite was Sonia, whose friendly demeanor and attention to detail were just heartwarming. My friends favorite was Zsolt who showed no end of creativity and critical thinking, and wasn’t afraid to get his hands dirty too! Also a big thank you the housekeeping team led by Christina, what a talent! Nothing was ever too much trouble for any of this team. Staff always remembered our names and greeted us with warm smiles and a ‘can do’ attitude. Rooms spotless and well maintained. Premium bath products and bed linens. Location is ideal - walking distance from the Danube - 5 mins, Basilica - 8 mins. The hotel is surrounded by excellent restaurants - but the hotel restaurant was delightful too. Staff were professional, friendly and extremely attentive - and the chef is a rockstar. Breakfast was included in our package - what an extravaganza. The Eggs Benedict (salmon or Hungarian ham) was fantastic. Home baked sourdough and probably the best butter I’ve ever had. The duck liver pate was also top rated as were the scrambled eggs - the yellowest and most delicious yolks! The spinach quiche also excelled. For dinner the risotto with duck confit was delicious- a bit soupy - but the flavors were out of this world.

There really isn’t much to dislike, so I’ll be really picky 😂! The bathtub had a small issue but the plumber was called immediately to resolve it, and the staff comped wine and cheese for our inconvenience. The A/C struggled a bit with cooling but the area was going through an extreme heatwave the whole time we were there. The pillows were a bit flat for me - so they were immediately replaced with brand new memory foam ones. One of us kept banging lower leg on the antique bed frame - Christina the housekeeping lead worked out a way to prevent and protect us improvising with a small cushion to bumper for us. Absolutely fantastic by all.

Hotel review for stay 16th June 2026 Hotel Gerloczy Hotel : Nice hotel and location… with some things to consider • Room booked: 1st floor room 2 …facing front of building. • Room: Deluxe Double room with breakfast • History: Small hotel with a beautiful stair case ( and has a lift) and about 19 rooms built 1891 by a merchant for his daughters. The two front 1st floor rooms where their bedrooms. • Renovations: room was nice and quite… although during the next door renovations during the day the rear rooms maybe a little noisy. Not and issue if your out all day anyway. • Location: Excellent location for tourist spots, restaurants and close to airport E100 airport shuttle • Shower shampoo / body was installed on wall in shower. A rack in place to hold your own consumables. • Room: had kettle, and Coffee capsule machine, cups, tea bags, capsules • Cupboard space : one freestanding cupboard for hanging clothes • Breakfast was based on menu order… nice quantity and presentation. Can order as many things from menu you want, although options maybe a little restricted for some people. See menu image • Reception Staff very nice and helpful! • Iron and ironing table : can borrow from reception during stay

• Location Access: since the hotel is in central Budapest and some areas like this district 5 has residential only access streets, and car access is controlled by electronically retracting street bollards which can only be controlled by residents, taxi, Uber taxi, Bolt taxi… and not by any other private tour operators or cars. • A/c disappointing. Although we were there a week or two before the rear hot weather the Air conditioning does not cool sufficiently at night which means I don’t sleep well. The air flow come from a special window sill box between window and curtains… so I closed internal shutters and left curtains open so airflow reaches room… weird I know…and still not adequate even with day temperatures of only max 25deg.C . For me even with all the other benefits just this negative would make me not stay here again. See image. • Shower folding screen a little awkward to use… little juggling to ensure water does not go all over the floor. Hand shower and rain shower. • Toilet: a little low with no grab rail around for anyone needing one • Bed : little too soft for our liking and the bed base leg corners stick out a bit so you may kick your feet on it the first few times. • Power outlets: on one side of bed only, with another at the entry table wall • Luggage space : room a little tight so not a lot of space if wanting to have open suitcases, but can manage. No luggage rack. • Breakfast area was very nice and was inside or outside… the outside would have been nice but there was always someone smoking which is unpleasant for me while eating. • Daily room service - not the best, but passable. Mainly because crumbs still on table, never left the extra towel requested… but reception quickly delivered when asked.
