We recently spent 7 unforgettable days at Sun Siyam Vilu Reef in the Maldives, and it completely blew us away. From the moment we stepped off the seaplane, we knew this trip would be special. This resort didn't just meet our expectations—it exceeded them in every single way. We have been allocated a dedicated butler, who was our point of contact during the whole stay. Zidh was very helpful and supportive with all our requests, making different arrangements and helping with reservations on the island. In terms of accommodation, we tried both type of villas, Grand Beach and Sunset Water Villas and both were spotless, and incredibly comfortable. Waking up to the sound of the waves and having direct access to the turquoise lagoon felt surreal. Not mentioning the stunning sunset you can admire from your own private terrace. The room was kept immaculate twice a day by our wonderful attendant, and the little luxury touches made it feel like home. The culinary experience was a major highlight. Every meal at Aqua Restaurant was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, special thanks to Chef Chaminda. Great staff at the restaurant, especially Shayan who was always attentive and supportive to all our needs. What truly sets Sun Siyam Vilu Reef apart is the people. The hospitality is warm, genuine, and deeply attentive without ever feeling intrusive. If you are looking for the ultimate island getaway, do not hesitate to book here. We loved it

Nothing to add

This is our second time in the Maldives. The hotel is constantly improving, and the staff is very kind and responsive. The menu is delicious and varied, especially when we tried traditional Maldivian cuisine on Saturday (weekly special event). We were fortunate enough to receive a room upgrade for the entire stay, for which we are especially grateful to the management and our manager, Alia. The reef is wonderful, and the bars are excellent. New villas are being opened on the other side of the island, and they are working hard to update all the equipment.

The neighboring island is a local residential island. Some of the beach villas overlook it, so keep that in mind. When the staff realized we'd been upgraded, they tried to move us back, but after a short conversation, they were able to smooth things over. There's talk of dividing the hotel into two parts (new and old), but I hope that doesn't happen, because the entire island is wonderful.

Island 2/10 big construction on the South of the island, basically the long sandbank showing on their website and booking com does not exist, there are long construction fences and new buildings are constructed which is noisy and ugly with cranes and drilling. There is nowhere mentioned in the booking that there is no access to 1/4 of the island Villa and beach in front 1/10 The eastern part of the island is an artificial beach with absolutely no air to breathe. I live in Dubai and I am used to heat but there it is unbearable to even sit for a minute besides 5 am. No wind, no air, artificial beach, sand mixed with corals. View on a local industrial island. Beach barely for swimming due to walls and again construction. Always workers around.
