Lovely place with delicious breakfast

Very nice place in Montalcino. The host Annalisa is very kind, good rooms, very generous and delicious breakfast and nice garden and parking space.

Watch out for the mosquitos when out in the gardens, but unfortunately a common challenge in summer - not much to do about it.

Tuscan romantic B&B - perfect for couples.

Beautiful B&B with very spacious room, high ceilings, gorgeous decor, cute four poster bed and great AC (a must in the summer!) Annalisa was very attentive and helpful - she gave us great tips for local events in Montalcino. We went to a wine tasting event in the castle nearby which she recommended and was a highlight of our trip - views of the sunset were enchanting. Breakfast in the garden also very pretty.

Lovely place in Montalcino

Small house with just a few rooms. The owner Annalisa was very nice. We got lost in the city and she came to rescue us. All in the room is beautiful and nice. There is a terrace in front of the room and the view is magic. Breakfast is delicious. We will be back

The 1 bed/1 bath apartment with kitchen was quite comfortable for a week-long stay. The location is quiet with beautiful views and a garden. A delicious breakfast was delivered to me every morning. Annalise was a charming, gracious host. I would happily stay again.

Wonderful, incredible, magical. This beautiful place exceeded our every expectation!

What a wonderful place this is! We cannot recommend this highly enough, and can’t wait to stay again. There was even a fireplace, and 2 gorgeous cats who visited us every day for pats. The breakfasts, eaten outside each morning, were fresh and delicious. Our host was just lovely - every day she recommended things to do, places to eat etc and her advice was always spot on.

Great stay in wine country!

The room was exceptional. Fabulous remodel and decorated beautifully. Located within the city walls made walking to restaurants very easy (though a hilltop town leads to very steep roadways). Very quiet location and access to a backyard patio area for reading or a glass of wine. Breakfast was wonderful.

Nothing. For physically limited individuals, the steep roadways might be an issue.

Cosy place in beautiful surroundings. Our hostess, Annalisa, where very helpful. Breakfast were served on the terrasse every morning. Location close to the city center. Would love to come back to this place again.

Great B&B experience and a great location with a great host

The location in Montalcino was spectacular, Dida , the host, did personally welcomed us, gave us great recommendations and made our time here fabulous. Breakfast, which was served on our terrace was excellent. We were able to park our car for free at the B&B site, which is very important because usually cars have to be parked outside the city walls. The B&B experience was wonderful and we will be back.

A charming and friendly B&B in Montalcino

Porta Castellana is an awesome B&B in Montalcino. The property itself is beautiful with cute cats running around it and the rooms are nicely decorated and cozy. It's a short (but steep) walk up to the main street in Montalcino which was great for dinners. Annalisa, the owner, was welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. When we arrived, she even helped us to get our car to the property when we couldn't navigate the maze of tiny streets on our own. My husband and I were traveling with my parents and Annalisa arranged our rooms to be next to each other and so we could eat breakfasts together. The breakfasts were light and healthy and it was lovely to sit outside in the garden to enjoy them. I'd highly recommend Porta Castellana for a stay in Tuscany.

As I mentioned above, we had some trouble finding it. This is no fault of the property as Annalisa sent us detailed instructions. We just aren't used to navigating medieval towns and our rental car's tires weren't great. Annalisa drove my dad back to where we'd parked our car in town, then had him follow her to the property. Once he'd walked the route he needed to drive a couple of times, then he could find his way back in the car after our day trips.

BnB Porta Castellana is a true jewel, if you want to stay in Montalcino, stay here. The owner, Annalisa treated us as if we were family. She also knows all about every corner of the town and the Val D’Orcia.

Dida and her staff created a lovely atmosphere for our lovely stay.

Beautiful room. Great shower. Fantastic breakfast. Very comfortable bed. Excellent AC which was vital as it was 36 degrees. Easy and ample parking.

Absolutely so comfortable and welcoming host Annalisa make this a must stay for visiting Montalcino.

The gardens surrounding the property are beautiful. Breakfast patios are private and surrounded by nature. The apartment is lovely, a combination of very new with classic Italian comfort. Everything worked perfectly.

Deluxe room is small for 2 person. enough for 1 person. there’s no window in the room. I have to open my room door for air-refreshing. It brings into room flies and fallen leafs

We would definitely return if we are ever in Montalcino overnight again.

The location was quite good. The staff and owner were very outgoing. Breakfast was perfect each of the mornings we were there.

I thought I had book the Room “with balcony” but when we arrived we didn’t have the room I thought I had booked. I didn’t mention it to the owner because there was another couple in the room “with balcony.”

One night on bike trip

Perfekt location with nice garden, 5 min up the stairs to the center of Montalcino. Comfortable room. We were lucky and had breakfast outside with a great view and a very nice chat with the owner.

Really close to the town

There was a small problem with my booking which spoilt my stay to some extent. However I have to acknowledge the efforts that Duccio made to solve any issues that arose.

Although the place is in a beautiful location, I am not 100% sure if the photos/description are as accurate as I expected myself

The single best B&B we’ve ever been to

Lovely host, beautiful garden and an astonishingly magnificent town of Montalcino. One morning we even woke up to see our car washed during the night! Do not hesitate, you won’t regret it :)

The location was perfect. It has beautiful views and really nicely curated garden. Moreover, it is still in the urban area which is very convenient if you want to taste some of the local wines at dinner. Moreover, Annalisa was really nice. We booked last minute since we were improvising along the way. Nevertheless, she was very accommodating and we are very grateful for her hospitality.
