The staff and location were excellent! The hotel is very close to a train station and bus stops. It was very easy to get around the area. We also loved the historic charm of the hotel.
It was a smidge tricky to find our way around and the room was very hot when we got there. We figured it all out though!

Everything, we got really lucky as we were treated to an upgrade, which was a lovely surprise (thank you so much for that). The room was huge, the bed was enormous and comfortable, everything about it was so inviting! I would have loved to have stayed more time!

High quality facilities. Lots of history and the tour is interesting. The bath is very nice and has a great view. The restaurant is very good.
It is so nice it’s a little uptight and uncomfortable. You need reservations for everything including the nearby restaurants which there are not many of. It can feel a little isolated.

The onsen was nice & staff very formal.
Property greatly requires a facelift; carpets are worn & rooms dated. Definitely not a 5 star
