Room and private onsen very good , location beautiful.
I thought from booking , that dinner was to be served in the room but when I asked about this they said no- in restaurant . This had no atmosphere as only one other couple came in much later and on the back wall of the restaurant , lots of boxes and furniture was piled up , partly covered with sheets .
However, the main issue I had was that we asked that one of our party , who was vegetarian, would not be joining for dinner in the restaurant , but that no other food was being asked for. They refused this request and said that either all 3 of us had to eat in the restaurant, or we should all find a vegetarian restaurant away from the hotel. ( which would have been impossible as it is remote) . I found this extremely rude . We were quite happy to pay the full price for all 3 , and were not at all asking for any discount , but to force a vegetarian person to sit through several courses of raw fish was completely unacceptable . This attitude towards guests was very untypical of levels of service in Japan , in other places.

Location was amazing. Super beautiful views.
Very very outdated facility. The wood for the terrace was broken and needed a lot of repairs.

The kaiseki dinner was fantastic and the staff were kind and accomodating.
The furniture felt dated, and the property and room not well maintained. The aircon and carpets felt musky.

The staff serving dinner and breakfast was nice - and ready to help with transfers and stuff. Other than that we consider our stay to have been a disappointment. The condition of the facilities is pretty much deteriorated with humidity all over and broken wood. The photos are really misleading in terms of what you’ll actually get - expect much worse.
During the kaiseki (which is not a traditional kaiseki) you have to pay for your own drinks (you take them from the mini bar).
