Fantastic location, right by the train and bus stations. Beautiful views with scenic and tranquil views. Amazing food in all the restaurants, Japanese, Chinese and French. Onsen is a fantastic bonus, free of charge. Chose a typical Japanese room (over a Western room) for 5 nights which was an experience. However, if you are used to Western beds, stick with a Western room. However the Ryokan is a lovely experience. I would highly recommend this hotel.
We were rushed in the Japanese restaurant and had a room call from the Chinese restaurant to eat 30 minutes earlier than our booking (which was slightly irritating). However Evening Food was delicious. Breakfast buffet over the 5 nights was consistently cold. Needs to be addressed for hygiene reasons.

Rooms were very clean, large, and stocked with quality products. Breakfast was large with lots and lots of choices. Loved soaking in the onsen after a cold, wet day. Keep in mind there is a ladies onsen and a different one for men, and mandatory nakedness.
I wished I could have purchased the provided yukata (robe).

Classic hotel with helpful staff. Easily able to store luggage before and after check out. Comfortable and spacious room, particularly compared to other Japanese hotels. Convenient to use the onsen and just next to the train station.
