My mother and I stayed at Turtle Bay for one week at the end of August and we had a wonderful time! The staff are all so kind and friendly and warm, they really go above and beyond to make sure you're having a comfortable stay. The daily included breakfast was fantastic, lots of fresh fruit, eggs, toast, etc. We mostly ate lunch and dinner at the hotel as well and we loved everything we had - especially the Sri Lankan curries! The room was comfortable with air con and plenty of space and a large bed. The pool was huge too and we enjoyed taking beach walks everyday (although the ocean was too rough and stormy to swim in). The hotel is located in quite a remote area so there is not a whole lot around you, which we absolutely loved as it was really peaceful and never busy with lots of people. As it was August, it was quite stormy but we still had some nice sunshine moments!! At night just bring earplugs as the wind and ocean can be very loud. We wanted to do a day trip to Udawalawe national park, and a day trip to Hiriketiya beach. Sarath the manager was so helpful, he organised a driver for these day trips, and a safari tour for us at a reasonable price and made our excursions very easy and smooth! We paid for everything at the end of the trip to the hotel which made it very easy for us as well. We really appreciate the warm hospitality and we would highly recommend Turtle Bay and would love to visit again one day soon!
There wasn't really anything we didn't like! The wifi connection could be a bit unstable and slow at times, but we didn't mind too much as we were on holiday. As mentioned, the wind and ocean could be quite loud at night in a storm but that's no fault of the hotel and did not really bother us - just perhaps bring earplugs with you incase you are a light sleeper. This might also be due to us visiting in the stormy season and Poya the staff said is known to be more stormy as well. The hotel was fantastic and I would highly recommend!

A wonderful stay from start to finish. The grounds are beautifully maintained, the views are stunning, and the on-site restaurant is lovely. What truly sets this hotel apart, though, is the exceptional staff who made the entire experience seamless. Highly recommended!
In-room Wi-Fi is patchy (minor issue if you are looking to unplug)
Adding some casual on-site games (like pool or darts) would be a great touch

A bit remote but that’s what we wanted , easy enough to get tuk tuk to shops

Shower needs a deep clean , mouldy , grubby & limescale not impressed for the rating of the hotel
No mattress protectors yuk !
