Location, the staff and the room. Nice and cosy just what I needed. Breakfast was great too - enough to choose from and delicious.
Only downside was the aircon would switch off once the room reached temperature. So overnight it would bake as it’s been a hot summer - but at least I had aircon!

Room was quiet and cosy with good heating and good hot shower. All the basics for a short stay were there - hanging space (with several hangers) for clothes; fridge, hairdryer, tv, coffee machine, ac + heater. I slept well. Breakfast (included in rate) was simple but perfectly adequate; the coffee machines were good, providing a decent sized cup and a good range of coffees. Pleasant and welcoming service in the breakfast room and on reception. Hotel location was perfect; easy to find, on a good street and very close to Metro. Excellent range of cafes, restaurants and shops nearby. Felt safe both in hotel and outside on street - the area is vibrant and not too touristy. Would recommend.
Pillows were rather uncomfortable (too big!). Decor tired and institutional in style (felt a bit like a motel) with some odd dips in the floor, but everything was clean. The room was fairly 'compact' - perfect for one; I think two might have been tripping over each other, especially if you have a lot of luggage, but that seems standard in my experience of European cities. I've stayed in smaller!
