Great location and free parking. The pub decor was stunning. Staff very friendly. Delicious breakfast and the complimentary refreshments were a nice touch.

The rooms felt like they needed a bit of care, eg chipped paintwork in the bathroom.

Bedroom clean and well decorated with plenty of space. Staff helpful and generally available.

I called central reservations 3 days before arriving to ask for a pet service to be added to our room. This has not been done when we arrived and even though we asked at reception on arriving no staff came to our room to provide dog bed, bowl, blanket, etc. Food in restaurant was not great quality - pate seemed old, not fresh and ditto for vegetable side dishes and the desert we had (trifle). Also the real ale in the bar (Black Sheep ale) was definitely stale and off. It should not have been kept on draught.
