Comfy beds in the room. location to beach.
The room would benefit from a bench to put bags on. Maybe USB ports in rooms. Cover the walkways to the bathrooms - wet tiles slip hazard in the rain - soggy soxs and slippers.

Loved it, it was nice, clean, amazing.
Honestly just a couple of unrelated things annoyed me; 1. Cleaning toilets around 9am which is peak time for check outs, I just thought it was such a bad time to be doing that specific task, I tried to enjoy the pool but then they were having scuba diving classes…nothing major but made me think twice.

We have stayed at lots of YHAs and this was definitely our favourite! The rooms are huge and as always, spotlessly clean. Helpful staff, lovely facilities and great location! Thank you!

Staff (as has been with all YHA Hostels) were great. Superb location, one min walk to the beach.
Having stayed in YHA sydney, brisbane and melbourne, this was by far the most tired and lacked atmosphere.
The accommodation is very basic and so felt very expensive by comparison to other stays.
Also worth considering that given the design of the building around a large central courtyard & pool, all noise from common areas amplifies echos to the bedrooms which have half window half netting, regardless of the noise curfew at night (which isn’t policed). The doors also are not soft closing so there is door banging all morning when people are up. Worth bringing ear plugs or considering the other YHA in Byron Bay for these reasons (maybe a different design and more modern).
