Loved the decor.
The staff were friendly. Great communication.The location was perfect, i loved how close to town we were, but the street was quiet. Breakfast was lovely, a massive selection of food. I was full for the rest of the day.
The hotel was clean and tidy.
Our room was comfortable and quiet.
The only thing I noticed was the room had a little wear and tear, some of the paint was coming off the walls near the head of the bed and some water damage to the unit in the bathroom. But this didn't take away from our enjoyment of staying at the hotel, and we will definitely come back again.

Excellent breakfast, with imaginative extras such as very varied fruits and nuts. Delightful and hard-working staff. Excellent location: quiet, but within easy walking distance of city centre, station and buses.
Carpets etc have seen better days and are becoming shabby.

The hotel is perfectly located, a 6 minute walk to the cathedral and 10 minutes from the train station. We loved the traditional 'feel' of this hotel. We were on the top floor, there is a lift in reception and when we got up there, the floor boards were appropriately uneven (due to the age of the building) full of character!
Our room was a real treat; tastefully and elegantly decorated with a huge bed which we found extremely comfortable. The bathroom could do with updating but it was spotless and very large. Overall we loved our stay and enjoyed the breakfast served by Alfie and his team. We will definitely stay there again.

Location was good
Very shabby and in need of updating. And very expensive. Disappointing. Carpets very worn, furniture old and tatty. Expected better fot £257 a night
