A good option for a night stay

Location is walking distance from the rail station and the main square. The staff were really nice!

The lift seems to still be out. I’ve read reviews about the lift being out and that’s still the case as of March 2024. Parts of the property (such as our room) need renovation. The bathroom was dated and has seen better days. Just to note the rooms aren’t sound proof when trains go by it’s very loud especially when we were trying to sleep.

Photos online and on booking.com are not what they seem!!

It was close to the main square, but still inconvenient/difficult to find.

We booked this hotel based on the reviews and photos we saw on booking.com. They turned out to be completely false. When walking through the hotel, everything seems run down/incomplete. It looks like they opened up a hotel half-way through building it. We were given what they called a “superior” room, but it required climbing 5+ flights of stairs and had views of run down/abandoned buildings. In addition to this, the room was surrounded by old windows which made us feel even more unsafe. There was no separate bathroom, only a shower, sink, and small closet with a toilet. All of the fixtures and furniture were damaged and extremely dirty. There were drill holes left in the wall and a lightbulb hanging from the socket in the ceiling. On top of this, the room was filled with mosquitoes and spiders. They changed our room, at our request, to another that felt safer but still just as dirty and had a hole in the ceiling. The bathroom smelled like mold/rot.

Recomendable: ubicación maravillosa y personal amable

La ubicación perfecta, el desayuno completo y la amabilidad de todo el personal adaptándose a tus necesidades y horarios.

El ascensor estaba estropeado y el hotel es un poco ruidoso, pero entendemos que es normal por el movimiento constante de gente.

NO IR A ESE LUGAR.

Que estaba cerca de la plaza del pueblo.

1.- Se notaba muy antiguo 2.- nos pusieron en el último piso debiendo subir permanentemente escaleras siendo que el lugar estaba casi vacío. Recordar que el lugar está rodeado de montañas y uno va a conocer machupichu y tener que todo el día subir y bajar un hotel es totalmente evitable. Sería indispensable que lo señalen. 3.- esta el piso cochino con bichos y hormigas. Hormigas también en habitación 4.- pésima ventilación. El baño no tenía nada de ventilación y las ventanas estaban tapadas por fuera con frazadas, haciendo transpirar las paredes luego de ducharse. 5.- se filtraba toda el agua de la ducha en el baño y además se filtraba toda el agua del lavamanos. Había que ir con zapatos al baño para no mojarse. 6.- la pieza húmeda por todos los problemas anteriores. 7.- el personal en el desayuno muy serio como qie te estuvieran haciendo un favor al servir el desayuno que estaba pagado con la reservación. 8.- no estaba la piscina con habilitada y mucho menos el jacuzzi que sale en las fotos de promoción.

Buena ubicación, buena limpieza. Desayuno adecuado, pero no sobresaliente.

We love it and the location is great to reach every where.

The rooms are very clean and nice. The shower is warm and hot. The breakfast is also delicious. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We will definitely recommend it to our friends.

elevators not working so had to climb five flights of stairs with luggage. Shower cube was leaking.

Miserable. Nobody to help with suitcases down from 3 floor. Lift not working.

Description did not match hotel. Room cramped, cold, tepid shower, curtains fell from rail, bathroom light not working. Damp towels.

Everything. Will not go there again. Miserable breakfast. No fresh bread. No pancakes. Room dark.

Nice hotel right on the main square in Aguas Caliente, large comfortable beds!

Unfortunately the pool and jacuzzi look like they have been out of service for some time, so don't count on using those.

There is a lift that doesn’t work, so 3 floors up the stairs, not ideal if you don’t travel light. Very noisy, small bathroom, very basic breakfast, we could only have a coffee and a banana.

nice enough, but not great value for money compared to other options in the area

Good location to visit MP. the room was very big and had a good view (we did book the mountain room view). comfortable bed. can store your bag after check out so you don’t need to carry it to MP.

Was very expensive for what we got. breakfast wasn’t great and the lady serving breakfast just watched Netflix on her phone out loud whilst we were eating

Good, central hotel

The location was right in the centre and the balcony had a great view. Staff were friendly and helpful.

There were a lot of stairs up to our room and some parts of the hotel looked rather tired.

Very good

Very friendly staff. Breakfast was also really good with friendly ladies working there. The room is very clean with a big bed and view on the mountains. They also have a little puppy in the hotel who is adorable.

Only minus was that the pool or hot tub was not in order. Other than that very good stay!

Nice staff, they try hard to do what they can to make your stay comfortable, and they even let us use the kitchen. But there are many issues as reported below.

They rooms aren’t clean, you are basically staying in a hostel. There are pictures of a pool and jacuzzi but they fail to tell you that if you use them they will charge you a lot so be ready for a surprise at checkout. The hot water doesn’t work a lot of the time, including the jacuzzi which is basically lukewarm bath water.

The location was convenient.

This hotel is straight awful. First, despite the hotel being empty, we were not given the room with mountain view that we booked and paid for. Second, when we arrived in the late afternoon we wanted to shower. We were told they don’t turn on the hot water until 7:00. When we got back from dinner at 9:00, we still had no hot water. We ultimately had to shower in another room. Third, the hotel tried to rip us off. Despite paying our bill upon arrival, at checkout we were told to produce a receipt or we’d have to pay again. Luckily we had the receipt, and as soon as we produced it, the hotel miraculously found their copy as well. Next, despite checking out the hotel was nice enough to hold a piece of our luggage while we visited Machu Pichu. When we came retrieve our luggage, we were told that there had been an error and we owed 15% more. Bottom line, stay away.

The receptionist who helped me carry my dog was excellent!

I liked that they made eggs or omelets for you upon request. I liked the cereal, too. I am getting hungry writing this!

There were a lot of steps. They should renovate those 2 rooms on the 2nd floor, which have the least stairs. Presently, those rooms are full of supplies.

Disappointing

Fastest WiFi we got out of our stays in Peru, really big room

As we were about to sleep at night, we noticed there were DOZENS and DOZENS of mosquitos all over the walls in the room - likely because all the hotel rooms face outside. (also Aguas Calientes had a lot of mosquitos in Oct). We asked the staff to change rooms but she told us the rooms all had the same problem, and instead she just came in with a towel in each hand and started hitting the mosquitos against the wall. So we did that for 20 minutes and covered ourselves in DEET and long sleeves to go to sleep before leaving for Machu Picchu at 5 am the next day. Not ideal.

Not at all as expected...

The location of the hotel is great. It was clean. It has the potential to be very cute. They allowed up to check-in early. Hot water. Breakfast at 5:30 convenient if you want to visit Machu Picchu early.

We booked 2 King Mountain View Rooms but did not have any view. We had rooms 310 and 410. Apparently, mountain view rooms are 301, 401, and 501. I tried to bring this up in the evening when we returned from our tour but no one in the hotel at 7 pm spoke English and was unable to help. I asked the lady at the front desk to call her supervisor (who spoke English) so she called Alfredo, the man who checked us in. He didn't talk to us, I could hear lots of noise in the background, and he did not seem concerned. I ended up having our tour guide come and translate. We needed a few things like hand soap, towels, etc. that had not been put in the room. Once our guide helped things were okay but the hotel is a bit old and musty with no circulation in the rooms. There is no fan and though you can open the doors, sandflies are a problem. The exhaust in my shower didn't work and the drain needs to be cleaned because water backed up around my feet in the shower but the water was hot. Breakfast was limited but available at 5:30 am. My friend had housekeeping open the door on him in the morning while he was still in bed. They didn't know they just entered... they also called his room twice to see if he was coming for breakfast which seemed a bit extreme. When we checked out the next day, Alfredo was there and when he asked about our stay, I told him we didn't like it. When he asked why I replied, "If you had taken the call last night you would know and perhaps could have made it better. I will leave a review." To that, he just walked away. I think you can find plenty of other hotels in the area for a better or similar rate and have a more comfortable stay!
