The Alverton sits in an ideal central location for anyone looking to visit and explore Cornwall. The hotel itself is incredibly beautiful, boasting great character and a welcoming atmosphere, while the breakfast service is highly satisfying and offers a solid start to the day. The rooms are lovely, but there is a slight drawback: the furnishings feel a bit neglected and could certainly benefit from a refresh. Overall, despite the slightly tired furniture, it is an excellent hotel that I highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

The bar drinks were very expensive which we felt was unnecessary.

Staff members are so friendly & polite. Couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast was superb , as was our dinner. Had scalops followed by fillet steak , tasty and cooked spot on. Was our silver anniversary & was given complimentary sparkling wine.How lovely of them.

Lovely old building. Quiet location

Food was mediocre. Some staff were helpful and well informed - others just didn’t seem very aware and weren’t attentive.. Service was very slow
