Vinaka vakalevu! I'll have to come back when it's not raining so much! :)

Friendly staff, nice food on site, quality snorkel hire, convenient location for beach visits and close to airport.

I liked everything but it would've been nice to have more social activities like a concert or trivia night, to bring guests and staff together. Also recommend a group snorkelling option at the local beaches, it's nice to snorkel with other people.

Pleasant

The Lodge is in a quiet garden setting with tall trees and coconut palms

The rooms are big, but basic. No kettle, no fridge. Every drink or food has to be purchased.

Good value. Friendly helpful staff. Lovely outlook. Close to the beach

A few things not working when we arrived such as the hot water. Power our each day but get used to that. Can use credit card for meals but not drinks. Limited wifi

Relaxing stay in aging resort, convenient to beach and dive shop

Stayed at Maravu because it is a short stroll to Salt Dive , (we had booked a weeks diving with Salt). We had Superior Bure which was very spacious, the bed was comfortable and King size. Lovely grounds and gardens ( full of coconut palms, papaya etc) with stunning sunset view over the sea. This was once a high-end resort, now starting to fade and show its age. Maravu has tried to sustain its business by adding "back packer"dorms as well as Bures. It was great to meet young travellers and divers from all over.

To put comments in context , Fiji really suffered over Covid and long recovery fróm Cyclone Yasa in 2020. However Maravu management has lost their way a little. Maintenance is a constant battle with the climate and as the property ages. It could use a "spruce up". Food and beverage service needs to be looked at. While food is pretty good, service can be really slow. The bar had pretty much runout of softdrinks and beer for a couple of days. They are also missing trade due to slow service. Was really surprised not to receive a fruit basket or similar on arrival.

The Hidden paradise of Fiji is Taveuni and Maravu Lodge is the Heart of that Paradise.

Everything about Maravu Lodge was beyond expectation. The location is perfect, the staffs are amazing, the view is spectacular, its also close to Bouma waterfalls. An amazing experience I had with my friends and I'm defiantly coming back.

The Aircon was not working well in our room, maybe because they were using the generator because of the power cut that the island is facing for a long period of time.

Relaxing

It was quiet and the front bures have amazing views. The breakfast options were good, but it should be noted that the restaurant is a seperate business from the hotel and so you pay seperately. It is within walking distance to some nice restaurants, dive centre and swimming beach. The staff will help organise transport for you

The photos on the internet are not recent or they have nice filters on them. The resort is very dated. The bathrooms are not overly nice. The pool doesn't look very inviting.

All the staff make this place memorable and very special.Facilities need much upgrading and cleaning

The staff were beyond amazing! Everyone from the front desk staff who would help with taxis, arrangements, suggestions. The staff who worked on the grounds were also outstanding. There wasn’t a staff member who didn’t go out of there way to make you feel welcome, spend time conversing, and becoming a friend.

Facilities are needing upgrading and were not reflective of the pictures on booking.com. Buries need a thorough cleaning along with upgrading linens, pluming fixtures. Only about 1/2 the furniture is on-site from the pictures listed on website, along with pool furniture being plastic loungers also needing replacing.

Good place to stay in Taveuni if in a budget

Good staff, good location, nice grounds. Food was fine, the 8-bed dorm is ok. Good place to meet other travelers.

The bathrooms are a bit far and not always clean. And most of the time with no toilet paper.

I now have my go-to accommodation in Taveuni.

It's location, safe, friendly staff and budget-friendly. It also has good wifi connectivity.

Could improve on making sure the shared bathroom is clean and improve on the food menu and quality.

Amazing experience at this lodge, would go back anytime! I really recommend this place!

The staff was so nice, they knew us by our first names. The locations was good, close to the beach and some restaurants. The food at the lodge’s restaurant was good and at a reasonable price. The pool was nice and the property was gorgeous with all the palm trees everywhere! The lodge offered a lot of activities for their guests and gave us good local advice. I liked that they turned off the electricity during the day, although it did require some adjustments in our daily routine. For example, it was impossible take a small nap in our room during the day because the A/C wasn’t on and therefore, it was way too hot! Overall, I really enjoyed my stay there!

There were a lot of ants in our room and even a rat… But in the middle of the nature it was kind of a bit expected. The positive things about the lodge weighed more than this, so my overall experience was really good!

- Large Garden with Bures

- Booked airport shuttle did not show up - Unfortunately some things were taken from my room incl. Apple AirPods. Staff partly supported in this case but only after re-asking (e.g. manager who offered to be contacted via what’s app did not response). In the end, they did not manage to find my stuff but drove me to the police station to make a report.

Exceptional

The ambiance, the outside shower, it was so divine. Be in the shower and seeing the blue sky ...me and my new friends loved it. They were very happy and thankful that I chose Maravu Lodge as our accomodation in Taveuni Island. Vinaka Henry! :)

Island was great, accomodation was poor, staff were fantastic.

Electricity was turned off each day between 10am and 4pm and could not escape the heat or get a cold drink during this period. Had to visit near cafe for cold drinks and meals. No air circulation in dining area.

Comfortable, friendly and spacious

Very friendly and helpful staff. Very spacious with great fans and air conditioning , super comfortable bed and fantastic shower pressure. Maravu Lodge is a Fiji Care registered accommodation.

The water in the shower wasn't draining properly and it couldn't be fixed. The cupboards would need a good wipe on the inside to be usable. A mosquito net would have been helpful for some nights. To be fair there was a bit of a covid surge on the island while we were there, which would have put extra pressure on everyone.

Clean, friendly, everything you need for a comfortable stay.

lovely gardens and cute huts, air con in the rooms and very clean. I got sick (traveling alone) and Kitthiana and her partner went out of their way to help me, super kind, attending to me and moving me to a better room. Its like a family everyone is friendly and inclusive.

Not worth the cost of a stay there. Spend your money elsewhere on Taveuni.

The breakfast was good and the view of the night sky was great.

The place is very rundown. We were told by locals that the owners are not putting any monies into the upkeep of the property nor repairing the property, only being interested in selling it. It was not worth the money we paid to stay there and we were happy we were only there for one night.

Good stay

Conveniently located, beautiful property next to a pretty beach, cafes and restaurants. Friendly staff Restaurant is good home cooked meals, and decently priced Great scuba diving options!

We didn’t have any hot water for a few days More furniture in the rooms and proper bath mats would be appreciated (it does not look like the pictures anymore)

Ok for a short stay

Great staff very friendly and helpful, everyone was really nice, from reception to housekeeping, restaurant, bar. Location is very good too, close to a very nice beach, airport and a good restaurant. The restaurant at the resort is amazing, very nice food cooked by Ben and Julie.

This resort has a great potential but unfortunately seems like they are not taking care too much. Poor maintenance of the place, a lot of things to repair. Could be better in terms of quality of the facilities.

Disappointing, read latest reviews from other travellers, before booking

The good part of this hotel is the cafe with great options, breakfast was great and healthy. The nature and surrounding stunning! Private rooms are nice, just run down, however could be easily improved if some time invested and better management.

I will be honest. Please don’t have big expectations,this hotel is not well managed! What I mean the facilities are the hotel is run down. AC is not working! Warning ⚠️ The pool is not maintained, see the pic, the frogs 🐸 swimming there. AC is not working, only the fan. Not with the money 💰 they are asking tourists to pay. This hotel potentially can be a very nice place, just need to invest time to take care of the facilities!
