Notre hôte a été charmant. Nous aurions pu rester des heures à échanger avec lui. Et il m'a fait pensé à la fable du colibri qui fait sa part pour un meilleur environnement et pour perpétuer les belles choses de ce monde. Nous avons beaucoup aimé la maison de plus de 500 ans et son pigeonnier emblématiques du Pays d'Auge. Magnifique allée de tilleuls pour arriver jusqu'à la maison.

Rustique , une parenthèse dans le temps, le pigeonnier est un endroit atypique pour les personnes qui recherchent un havre de paix. Au calme en pleine nature, la literie est top et le petit déjeuner avec des produits régionaux.le propriétaire est un passionné du lieu et fournit une belle documentation sur l’histoire du batiment et la région.
Le lieu du petit déjeuner est dans le clocher du pigeonnier, un peu bas pour les personnes de grande taille . Cela peut surprendre, mais rien d’insurmontable.

L'emplacement est fabuleux en plein pays d'Auge, la maison charmante et le propriétaire est particulièrement accueillant et nous transmet l'histoire de sa région avec passion ! Bravo

We loved the rustic charm of La Pigionierre, and the warmth and enthusiasm of our host was exceptional. The building was very beautiful and there are a lot of quaint features. It is in a charming unspoilt area near a nice small town with restaurants and good facilities. It was a peaceful and quiet rural retreat. They were very helpful and lent me an iron and hair dryer too.
We were travelling for a wedding, followed by a road trip of Normandy, and had fairly large cases and the parking for the property is across the road and up an unsurfaced drive (I have a bad back), so just be aware of this. The breakfast, taken in a little room above the bedroom (steep stairs), is just bread/toast with home produced jam and local apple juice, plus yoghurt and tea and coffee making facilities. The breakfast things were not washed up ready for our second morning. The bed was very comfortable but the red sheets were a bit 'tired' and I think white sheets would brighten the room considerably.
We were more than happy and satisfied with the facilities and character, but it is more towards the rustic/basic level with no mod cons. I think if they cleared some trees to lighten the area, and tidied the garden it would seem much brighter and more appealing because the property itself is very pretty. They could move their own private parking (in front of the Pigeonierre) to the other side of the property and create a pretty little garden for sitting out, or even for the guests to park nearer to the property.
