Paradise on Nicoya

The surroundings are beautiful, comfortable beds, great property.

We took the wrong way getting there and had to cross over a river bedding (with crocodile warning) but this added to our adventurous holiday!

A magical place

We were in the jungle and could enjoy all the sights and sounds but we had all the modern amenities we could possible need. Thomas is an amazing host and in the design of his amenities he has thought of everything. He gave us all the help and advice we needed to make the most of our stay and his breakfasts were delicious. This location is magical. We stated for 3 nights and wanted to stay longer. We slept brilliantly every night.

Quaint, serene hotel sitting in the middle of nature with a respectful and delightful host.

Wonderful for a couple. The grounds are immaculate, two pools, yet very private because the 10 units are spread out over several acres. You're in the middle of nature with no other houses or buildings within eyesight or audible. The units all look out into the jungle. On a couple of days, we had a family of howler monkeys lazing for hours in the big mountain almond tree in front of our patio.

Really nothing. The hotel is a 13 minute drive into Tambor, so you feel like you're truly in nature. This is what we wanted for a week and this is what we got!

We all loved staying here and would return at the drop of a hat. The welcome from Tomas was extremely warm and we felt that all our needs were met. The villas are gorgeous and the environment is exceptionally peaceful with visits from howler monkeys and coatis. Breakfast was delicious.

Thomas is such an amazing host, makes you feel right at home. We had a great stay at the lodge - lovely room & great breakfast. The lodge is situated quite close to the sea (driving distance) making it the perfect fallback position for going out on a diverse range of trips during the day & to relax in a nice and quiet environment at night.

Very nice place, with a lot of direct nature !! Great place to chill out, great breakfast and very friendly staff. The communication was very easy and the room was very clean.

Overpriced but nice private nature area

Lodge was located in a nice jungle. AC was good. Nice private terrace. Bed was good. Host was friendly and helpful.

Everything was a bit dirty and dusty. Many insects in the room, even though all windows and doors had insect screens. Considering the price of the lodge is about double as the other hotels I stayed in, I expected much better. The kitchen was not well equipped. No toaster even though it was written on the list on booking.com. Wifi had problems.

Nice family run place

We loved Thomas's place, everything was really quiet and it has 2 pools. The place is family run, there are different types of rooms, some even have a kitchen and if it's possible Thomas will offer you an upgrade for a small extra.

The setting was incredible. Would thoroughly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet escape and to connect with nature. Thomas was so welcoming and helpful throughout - I was just sad that I could only stay one night!

Wonderful place in the jungle

We loved our little bungalow! The whole place is amazing! 2 pools! Even saw a cute little Pizote running around. Friendly owners, breakfast was nice too, wish we could have stayed longer!

Awesome stay!

Thomas and and Lodge Margouillat provided an excellent stay to finalise our vacation. Incredibly welcoming, kind and helpful in all aspects of our stay. Wifi was good, room and grounds are clean and tidy, shower was actually hot (rare in CR) and great breakfast provided. Thomas was also a great help to order delivery from a local restaurant. We were even lucky enough to see a kinkajou! Thank you for such a wonderful stay Thomas and family!

Not much in the local area, have to drive a decent distance to reach restaurant/tourist areas.

perfect lodge hidden in the forest

perfect lodge in the forest, very private, extra clean and comfortable for a few days stay. kitchen is well equipped, pool is perfect!! owners were very welcoming and we had a very nice stay

the bathroom door was a little scratchy on the floor, but that is a real little detail!!
