Exceptional

10 minutes walk from the pier and only 5 minutes walk to the central plaza in town.. Grocery store next door and several restaurants within a few blocks.. It's a three level building with the third floor having a large kitchen and open patio area, plus free filtered water for guests. I also noticed bikes on site for guests. Perfect for 1-3 nights. Simple but great value for the price. I had a private bathroom with aircon room.

comfortable, friendly, great location

basic but comfortable rooms with air conditioning- exactly what you need when you’re out all day exploring. the owner is very friendly and helpful. the kitchen is spacious, the location is perfect to go to the beach or to snorkelling spots. I would definitely stay here again.

the curtains in our room only covered half the window, and we had a hallway outside. no one was walking past as the room next door was empty but they would have been able to see in. we hung a towel up to use as a curtain.

Fine enough for the price you pay.

The room is simple but comfortable, with a functioning AC which is essential. There was always hot water available in the shower. The kitchen has the basic equipment needed to make a meal. The location is 15mins walk from the dock, has a well stocked mini-market underneath and is close to restaurants and shops.

The kitchen is quite dirty. The front desk is unattended so it can be difficult to find a staff member at times.

The room was clean and had air conditioning which was very nice.

The kitchen was very badly stocked (for ex. 1 fork), and apparently breakfast was served there but we got no information about this at all. It was very difficult to get hold of the owner. We had to ring a doorbell but it often took a really long time, and several rings, before he showed up. There was a water dispenser but it took a long time for it to be changed, even after we told the owner that it was empty. This was quite frustrating because it meant that we had to wait around for water and the shops weren’t always open so we would be without water. If there is a reason why it would take some time to refill the water dispenser, then it would have been good if this was communicated so that we could plan ahead.

Clean budget friendly hotel on Isla Isabela

it was clean, there was a kitchen, the a/c worked well, the receptionist will help you book tours and they have bike rentals

the wifi didn’t work and the shower head seemed broken, sprayed water all over the bathroom.

Clean, quiet, pleasant, welcoming hotel in the center of the village.

Clean, quiet, comfortable hotel with large open kitchen/lounge with potable water provided. Flavio, the owner is extremely friendly and helpful. Staff is very pleasant. My single room was just what I needed, with a comfortable bed, clean sheets, the shower had hot water. A/C provided. Location was great.

Convenient location. Next to grocery store, fantastic restaurant on on corner for dinner and on the other corner a place for breakfast. But you can buy groceries and cook your in the kitchen on the third floor.

Window drapes to thin. Feel like someone could see through fabric and see what is in room. Bile rentals available, but reserve them quick as they get taken fast.

you pay war you get

you get war you pay. the hostel is clean, 2 blocks far from the main place. the staff is friendly but you have to call or text for help. the kitchen is big and you have free water. I stayed 5 nights and it was totally really okay.

the early check out at 9 am.

Good budget option

overall a really good budget place to stay. rooms are comfortable and cleaned everyday with aircon and hot showers! Location just off the main road is perfect and the owner is super friendly and helpful.

The communal areas don’t seem to be cleaned often, especially the kitchen / tables which are quite dirty .

Flavio was an excellent host who saved my trip to Isabela - stepping in to get me on a rescheduled tour to Los Tuneles and ferry back to Santa Cruz at no extra cost to me after the tour agency dropped the ball, even after I had already checked out!

Good value for money. Very warm shower and clean room which they clean daily.

For a hostel it doesn't have a very cozy common area. But this is just a minor point, still recommended to stay

The WiFi in rooms is not reliable, it’s much better in the lobby area. It still isn’t great but the best I found on Isabella!

Disappointing

the manager was very helpful and gave us good advice.

the hostal has seen better days. maybe due to Covid-19 the upkeep was a bit slack. the kitchen was not well equipped and didn’t appear to be cleaned daily . our A/C unit was broken. he said he would have it fixed. never did. but he gave us a fan, which was ok as it was cool at night they finally fixed the bulb in the bedside lamp after asking a few times there was no drinking water or soap - the first time we have stayed at a place without it the family owned mini market over charged - in fact it depended on who was working at the counter as to what you were being charged I wouldn’t stay again
