I have just returned yesterday from a 10-day stay at the Insight Resort in Ahangama, Sri Lanka, and I felt compelled write this detailed review. It was a scintillating experience, and I do not think I could have enjoyed it more than I did.
Let me tell you what I experienced and felt:
i) Facilities: The gardens, swimming pool, trees, lighting, staircases and rooms are all kept very clean, being cleaned a number of times per day. Really, the cleanliness was truly exceptional ! Nothing was out of place, defective, in need of repair. The air-conditioning worked flawlessly, hot water was available, if one so needed it, 24-hours per day. The electricity never once went off during my stay, even during some severe rainstorms. The internet was very fast, and I never had any issues whatsoever with it, at any time of the day or night. The resort’s beachfront was immaculately clean and a pleasure to experience. The resort had proper security at the gates, and no one could just wander in.
ii) Location: The location of the resort is superlative. It is right on the beach, yet the entire resort id quite close to the center of Ahangama town, with all restaurants and shops within a short 10~15 minutes casual walk. One could therefore be simultaneously in the quiet of the resort, yet close to the centre of Ahangama, as needed.
iii) Staff & Management: I found the level of service absolutely excellent and world-class. Their attentiveness, attention-to-detail, politeness and willingness to go the extra step was something which sets this resort apart from anywhere else. I especially want to praise Ms. Dilrukshi (Front Desk), Mr. Sumedha (Food & Beverages Manager), and Mr. Sudheera & Mr. Nuwan (Room Maintenance), for being exceptionally attentive, solicitous, concerned, caring and a joy to talk with. Their level of care was exceptional, and it would be very remiss of me not recognize and appreciate. The management of the resort deserves praise for hiring such people.

Well located on the beach, could walk to many of the other nice restaurants in the area. Staff were very attentive and always served with a smile.
Expected more from the breakfast buffet, cocktails could have been made a bit smoother.
