A lovely cottage in a most amazing garden

Lovely cottage with a wonderful garden to really relax. The kitchen is very well equipped. The Adega de Pomar restaurant is nice and on walking distance as well as the supermarket.

We missed the fresh eggs service from the chicken running around freely at the property. We would have loved that!

Amazing house, beautiful interior and all the amenities you need. Surrounded with lovely garden and a lot of privacy. A little piece of heaven for sure and it definitely exceed our expectations upon arrival. Filipe is a great host, communication was easy, he even prepared a booklet with useful information about restaurants, places, etc. + his homemade bread and marmalade are delicious! We highly recommend it to anyone who's visiting Madeira!

It was nice, comfortable. I recommend it

The wonderful garden. It was really amazing. The house was well equiped as well, we liket hte kitchen very much. It was easy to reach with car but the bus stop is also very close. There are some shopping options and restaurants close to the house (pharmacy, supermarket, bakery). The owner is helpful and kind. And the welcome present was very nice.

The cleanliness could be improved slightly. It was ok, and I have to admit that I have high standards regarding it :)

A peaceful, comfortable, beautiful location, yet close to Funchal & only 20 minutes from the airport

The cottage is located in the large & colourful gardens of the Quinta where the Friendly & helpful owner & his wife live. The location is very peaceful, full of birdsong & free range hens!! Yet only a 20 minute bus journey into Funchal, the bus stop being 5 mins walk away. The local supermarket, 3 restaurants & excellent bakery/coffee shop are 10 minutes walk away. The cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable 2 week stay. The daily cleaner was friendly & efficient & we particularly liked the laundry service which included ironing!!

We would have liked a small oven rather than 2 microwaves.

A nice stay at an interesting part of the island for hiking, eating, mountain landscape and city.

The location is splendid, huge own forest garden, the concept of the house is great, the wifi works well, the sleeping room is spacious and the beds are good. There are enough cabinets for clothing etc. The bathroom is okay and foreseen with toilet and bidet. The owner offered delicious homemade confiture. There is a hearth in the living room. The concept of the house is very good. The central heating system works well.

the house was not really clean, especially the bathroom could be much cleaner, hair from a previous user on the sink and on the floor. Same for the sleeping room. Showering in the bathtub with curtain is not very pleasant. The bathtub could be descaled. The bathroom window cannot close, the lock is broken. So it blows in. Use of the fireplace costs 12.50 per portion of wood, so per evening. Kitchen worktop is small and the freezer space in the fridge is also small.

Well equipped, comfortable and relaxing accommodation in a fantastic botanical garden.

Accommodation in incredible landscaped mature gardens. Wonderful to wake up in such a fantastic place. Private and not overlooked. Respectful, polite and friendly hosts. Well equipped, comfortably furnished property. Toasty hot log burner, which was essential on chilly late November nights.

All good at the property. However.... The road outside has no footpath and is dangerous, especially at night.( Take a torch). The property is in a semi rural area where neighbours ( residential and businesses) have untethered guard dogs making direct access on foot to the nearest bar behind the property impossible without being mauled or worse.

Amazing stay, highly recommend

It was a little cold in the night and we couldn’t make the heater work! Out fault to not have spoken with Filipe but wasn’t a massive issue for us as the bed was comfortable and warm!

Excellent choice, highly recommended

The villa provided was in an excellent condition, having all the amenities needed. The all property at Quinta das Faias is a destination in itself, being an exotic park. The owner, Mr Filipe de Vasconselos, was very helpful and flexible.

in some hidden spots it must be insisted with the cleaning. But it was a minor issue.

the cottage was chilly we didn’t expert it to feel that cold in late June we didn’t get much sun up there to sit out & chill like we hoped maybe bad luck with weather but would be better prepared next time we visit as the cottage was beautiful & the gardens

A tranquil, garden setting

We appreciated the garden setting and tranquility. Filipe recommended Adega do Pomar, a very good restaurant nearby. We also enjoyed the Fado singer and homemade cider. The bus into Funchal is convenient

Great place for work and leisure.

Fantastic little cottage. Very silent. Great place to work (doing video conferences all day, WIFI ++) and good starting point for hiking and exploring Funchal (10-20 min by car). Bed very comfy. Owner extremely friendly. Very sunny terrace.

A washing machine would be great. Then I‘d stay here even for a month ir longer.

Heaven on earth

This place is heaven on earth. The house is on a huge green property, like a garden, which is typical for a Quinta, as I learned. You can take a walk before breakfast and enjoy the plants, the apple trees, the birds and the chicken. :-) It is a beautiful, relaxing place. You can also see the ocean from the end of the garden. There is a supermarket close that you can reach by foot and also a good bakery. The house is beautiful and has its own little terrace, which we used a lot for breakfasts, to read a book and to chill. At the end of September it is a bit cold in Camacha (for my taste) but Filipe turned on the heat after I asked him and this helped a lot. All in all, we had a beautiful stay, Filipe is very friendly and has a very positive energy. We would come again anytime and will also recommend this place to friends and family.

Cosy comfortable cottage!

We loved the location and the beautiful surroundings and the cottage was very private, comfortable, practical and perfect for our stay. We loved the wood burner & Filipe was a wonderful host.

We would prefer a real oven over a microwave and a washing machine but there was an option of having laundry done for a fee.
