I recently stayed at Kahama Hotel and had a great overall experience. The biggest highlight was the staff—they were exceptionally friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming throughout my stay. There were two gentlemen who took excellent care of me, as well as two ladies who always served me with a warm smile. Their hospitality really stood out and made me feel welcome.
The housekeeping team also deserves recognition. They worked very hard and consistently kept my room and the surrounding areas clean. The food was good, reasonably priced, and offered excellent value.
Overall, Kahama Hotel provides outstanding value for the money. The only significant downside is its location, which is unfortunately outside the hotel’s control. It is located near a major roundabout that experiences extremely heavy traffic. During my stay, traffic would often begin around 9:00 a.m. and continue until about 8:00 p.m. This can make getting around Nairobi frustrating, as some taxi and Uber drivers may be reluctant to pick you up or drop you off in the area unless you pay a higher fare—and even then, some drivers may still refuse the trip because of the congestion.
If you’re traveling with one or two people, bodas (motorcycle taxis) can be a much better option since they can navigate through traffic far more easily than cars.
Despite the traffic challenges, I would still recommend Kahama Hotel to travelers looking for excellent service, clean accommodations, good food, and unbeatable value. The staff truly made my stay memorable.

The room was pretty comfortable and very suitable for a short stay.
The only problem is the street noise. Make sure you book a room facing the garden. Maybe they are a bit quiet.
