From the second we arrived on Friday 20th August 2026, Brian, greated us at the door made us feel so welcome intruding himself and his wife Mandy. He offered us a drink before asking if we would like him to take our bags to our room.
I had booked a small double room which was the perfect size for the 2 of us.
Once entering out room he explained that there were robes on the back of the door for the shower, the room was bright fresh and immaculately clean tea & coffee facilities which was a lovely surprise, when asked if there's was anywhere I could store my medication as needed to be in a fridge, Brian immediately without any hesitation said he would bring up a little cooler for me. He handed us the keys and explained that our shower was in another room just opposite our room, which was perfect for our short stay.
He explained about how breakfast was available
between 7am and 9am and asked if we would like to choose a time between then so his wife could make sure she was ready for us.
As this was our 1st time at Shirley Heights Hotel we asked about what was local for us to do, Brian welcomed us to the local social club on Friday which was a short walk along from where we were staying, which I would definitely recommend both myself & my partner really enjoyed the atmosphere entertainment & cheap drinks.
The room was at the front of the building we did expect to here some noise...... not a thing we both slept well which is a 1st for us both!, the bed was so comfortable we nearly slept in for our breakfast.
All I can say about the food was AMAZING!
Everything you could think of was available the dining room was warm and welcoming the other guests were so polite which was really nice. We had a cooked breakfast with toast which was beautiful with a pot of tea and fresh orange, there was lots of cearals on offer along with fruit and Greek yoghurt which was set out for everyone to access.
Couldnt fault anything.

Everything was great, the hosts were really friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were superb. The room was really nice with a fan to keep us cool and we had a great sleep each night. The location was perfect for the seafront and all the attractions just a short walk away.
