Casa Carolina is like an oasis once you step off the street.
The pools are a welcome relief from the heat.
Our room was spacious & comfortable.
The food from the restaurant was very good & breakfast had plenty of options.
The staff were professional & welcoming. In particular a shout out to the head chef, who was lovely.
The street Casa Carolina is on is not nice. It amazed us that such a lovely hotel could be on such an awful street. We were advised not to walk after dark & even on the Sunday evening, coming back from a very early dinner (5-6pm) a few streets away, still in daylight hours, we felt uneasy. The Main Street was almost deserted.
We also noted that people not staying there can access the pools & restaurant for day use. Which is fine, but when there are children who naturally just want to have fun in the pool, all day long, it can become a little crowded (in the pool), if you just want to relax & read a book.

A very cozy boutique hotel in Santa Marta,walking distance to the promenade by the sea and close to restaurants and shops.
Nice communal patio with small pools for the late afternoon rest.
Common table for breakfast that was good.
When we arrived our room was with no hot water we let know the staff and it took almost 24 hours to be sorted and several complaints,in the meanwhile our room wasn’t even made up.

Beautiful locally run hotel, very welcoming and rooms were comfortable, spacious and amazing value for money. We loved the communial area and the pools. Staff were super friendly and helpful and in a great part of Santa Marta with old town and restaurants only 5 minute walk
