What an unforgettable stay we had at the Lodge. A perfect location to appreciate the beauty and serenity of the Atacama. The view from the bedroom was spectacular and al fresco breakfast looking onto the volcano sublime. Arguably a little far out of town - a 15/20 minute walk - but the payback was well worth it - and we were aware. Constanza was an invaluable source of advice on trips and all four tours she booked for us were first class. The room was spacious, really clean and the bed/pillows extremely comfortable. Highly recommended!

The location is really beautiful, on the outskirts of San Pedro, and the view from the cabana window is incredible, overlooking the volcano. It's a small lodge, but tidily kept. Costanza was very amiable and helpful for any questions I had. I high recommend grabbing a bottle of wine from town and making it an event to watch the sunset from the patio terrace. There is a communal kitchen/fridge where I was able to store some left overs and bottled water/beer available for a fee. The room was so clean; the bed comfortable. I stayed in for five days, I really enjoyed it. There are bikes that can be borrowed to ride into town, which is a good idea as it helps save some time. Slight incline into town which on my first day of altitude adjustment made me reconsider my current life expectancy, but not much peddling needed on the way back. Many times tours will leave you in San Pedro, so I would walk back which took me about 20-25minutes as I'm not the fastest walker. The only time this was problematic was after the sunset tour/coming home after dark. I needed (and was thankful to have remembered) my headlamp once I turned onto the dirt road to get to the lodge. The breakfast was simple but filling. I think with Planeta Atacama you need to be okay with being on the outskirts of town. The trade off is the uninterrupted view from the lodge and from your very own room. In my opinion, very much worth it! Also, wiFi was great!

The only thing that wasn't fantastic was the coffee. This wasn't isolated to Planeta atacama; it seems that there is pretty widespread use of instant coffee on the tours as well. I know, a trivial complaint, but since I was asked....that's my answer.

A little out of the way. Bikes were available to be fair! The breakfast was okay, pretty basic.
