Disaster

The property was lovely

We did not stay that long we had to book into a hotel I am disabled an always do a filter but booking.com don’t seam to get that

Lovely stay

Perfect location to get into the village easily. The house had a lot of character. Was like stepping back in time shovelling coal from the coal shed!

There was nothing we didnt like. It was perfect for a little get away. The house isnt very suitable for anyone with difficulty climbing stairs but thats just for future reference, we didnt have a problem

Poor property and customer service

Location os good. Footpath to main carpark at back of house. Couple of minutes walk to beach.

Where to start....the property is dirty, in dire need of maintenance and decorating for a property that is let as a holiday home. We stayed in April, had plenty of rain and cold temperatures. The property heating system is run by the log burner/fire in the living room which requires coal or wood to heat the water and radiators. On arrival there was barely any fuel in the coal store, so we purchased some from the local shop. The following day, I rang the caretaker who said she would arrange for some more to be delivered. This never happened so we again had to purchase coal from the shop. There are 2 x small oil filled radiators in the property, which for a house on 4 floors is not adequate additional heating, especially during colder weather. The property is dirty, lots of cobwebs, poor general maintenance, microwave didn't work, broken glass cafetiere, rags stuffed in gaps in wall, daylight visible through the window frame in kitchen, broken bed frame in top bedroom. I have highlighted all of this to booking.com but had no resolution. Offer of £35 credit which just about covers the cost of fuel we had to buy. Would not stay again.

Loved the location wouldn’t stay in the property again if free.

The location was great in a beautiful place.

It was dirty. No heating No hot water. Shower broke Smoke alarms missing Damp Mouldy Many things in the property broken Rubbish in cupboards

Pleasant

Nice old cottage with mainly good facilities. Good views, and good value compared to other cottages I looked at when booking.

The description for the property must be altered so that it starts by describing the location and access to the property. I had my elderly mother, fortunately she was able to slowly get to and fromm the property, but until arrival we had no idea how it was situated. The hot water system needs serious attention! Yes, it is a recent upgrade with the cylinder being not much more than a year old, but the control is sketchy, and we discovered that it is linked to the heating system, so when trying to get hot water the radiators are sapping the heat as well! Got the water hot on an evening and it's stone cold by morning! My wife had recently had a hand operation prior to going and was unable to use the shower, so it was a big need to get hot water for her to use the bath.

Staithes is a beautiful place to stay

Location ideal the cottage was comfortable for a few nights

The stairs are very very steep and being on three floors was a bit dicey at times. The cottage was not very clean cobwebs in the kitchen dirty foil left in the oven and the microwave was left dirty. The cottage is in need of re decorating v

Okay

Location was amazing. Beds clean and comfy, bathroom clean with fresh towels.

Kitchen wasn’t clean, grill was hanging inside oven and toaster was melted (looked unsafe).
