The Arbuthnot Suite was beautiful, spacious and very comfortable. The shower was great! The bed comfort was fantastic - no complaints. The food for dinner and breakfast was good, but not destination worth in of itself.
For as nice as the property was (clear investment has been make in the furniture and fittings), the staff came across as inexperienced and inattentive at times, though well meaning. There wasn’t a clear supervisor overseeing the staff. They were nice, but seem to be working for the summer without a strong experience in the attention to detail, luxury service expectation by the people staying at such a high end accommodation.

First experience staying in a Castle Hotel which was pleasant, friendly staff and nice country getaway. Lucky we had a nice day of weather so could do some hiking during our stay.

Food generally good. Lovely location.
Staff needed far more training. Despite being in our sixties we had to carry our bags and suitcases up 3 floors. Room very dated and shabby with curtains hanging off hooks. Needs a total refurb. Bathroom a shocker with brown water and pathetic over bath shower.
