Gute Lage, super nah zum Meer

Super gute Lage am Ende des Ortes, so hat man seine Ruhe ist aber in 2 Minuten mitten im Geschehen. Nach hinten raus die kleine Terrasse und dann nur wenige Schritte bis ins Meer, mega! Man sieht das Meer also direkt aus dem Fenster. Endlich mal ein vernünftiges und bequemes Bett. Das Zimmer ist einfach, hat aber alles was man so braucht inklusive moderne AC und Kühlschrank. Parken vor der Haustür, im eingezäunten Privatgelände. Nettes Personal, man kann sich Beach Towels abholen. Alles sehr sauber und die Cleaning Lady fegt auch mehrmals den Sand von den Terrassen.

Wie überall in Costa Rica extrem dünne Wände, sodass man lautstarke Nachbarn sehr gut hört. Wir hatten das Zimmer ganz außen und daneben ist aktuell eine Baustelle, es wird ein neues Hotel gebaut. Dafür kann die Unterkunft natürlich nichts, aber es stört den entspannten Aufenthalt schon, wenn nebenan schon früh morgens die Flex ausgepackt wird.

Dirty, rusty, bug filled.

Didn't like it

The water in the units was rusty smelling leaving your skin and mouth rusty; quite disgusting. Dirty and filled with roaches and other bugs including tons of mosquitoes. Doors screeched and didn't stay closed unless locked. Additionally, I logged into Netflix & forgot to log out; reached out to staff who told me that would try logging me out but never got back to me even after following up with them.

Very good

Exactly what we needed at the end of our trip- we appreciated the close proximity to downtown and were amazed by how quiet it still was. Beachfront was lovely, garden had a new flower species at every turn- Heavy wooden tanning recliners were very nice for the great strong morning sunning we did. We also enjoyed the outdoor kitchen area for our mornings- efficient and had all necessities for preparing breakfast, surely. Our souls were weary and we needed tranquila - a pleasant surprise no doubt! Puerto Viejo felt “down the st” cozy and perfect for what we needed. Daily walks up the beach to the viewpoint in Cocles were terrific, location for me was just so relieving. Right off the “beaten path” leaving us to be still and have easy walking distance to some of the coolest shops around! ( Without the small city banter vibe) Rest + Recharge with a Happy Hour stumble distance home! Pura Vida!

swimming in the sea wasn’t an option. Building was old and therefore some doors were creaky

A dream

The staff was really friendly and nice, the view on the sea was the best thing that this place had. The common area was nice too. I came in Puerto Viejo by bus and it was really easy to get to the hotel, if you don’t have a car you can rent a bike in front of the hotel or take the tuk tuk. Everything (restaurants, markets, beaches) are really accessible. Nothing to say really!

Relaxing stay

I had a sea view room and loved to chill in the hammock in front of the room. The location was great, very walkable to shops and restaurants, yet away from the noise. The cleaning lady did a fantastic job in cleaning away the ever returning sand.

I didn’t like the fact that there is no 24 hour security. Whilst the front gates are locked, the side to the sea is open and anyone could walk on the hotel grounds. The locks in the back door didn’t feel safe enough to me.

Great stay within walking distance to everything in Puerto Viejo but tucked away to the side enough to not be in the noi

Great value and had a very comfortable sleep. The hammock on the back porch area was very enjoyable with a coffee and pastry from the excellent bakery across the street!

It is a perfect place to enjoy being in Puerto Viejo and relaxing at the sea. We stayed there longer than planned originally.

You get what you pay for!

The location is amazing. The staff was wonderful, all three people we dealt with at the front desk were helpful and friendly, went above and beyond. The AC worked (important) and the bed was comfortable. You do get hot water in the shower. The price is low enough that I think you do get what you pay for and it's a good deal overall.

The bathroom was tiny and not very comfortable, and we were only given two towels (no hand towels or anything). The water shut off one night, through no fault of the hotel, but when we asked about it the next morning we were told they knew it would happen and it would've been nice to have a heads up we'd have no water for 8 hours. Aside from that the water from the sink smelled weird and when used for brushing our teeth it tasted horrible. So use your own water for that haha.

Beachfront hotel away from the noise!

We liked this spot because our backyard was the beach. We enjoyed walking out the back door to chill on the hammock and then walk along the beach to Salsa Brava or the plethora of wonderful food options. It didn't offer the amenities that most of our other hotels did, but we were grateful for the refrigerator to store fruit and alcohol. The staff at the reception were very helpful. We stayed in March 2021 when you still needed a negative COVID test to re-enter the United States. They let me use their phone to call around a bunch of local hospitals to book a COVID screening (which we ended up doing back in San Jose because the other places there didn't have a quick enough turnaround time). No breakfast is offered, which is a bummer, but they do have free coffee and an area to sit and eat. What we really appreciated was that it was just slightly removed enough from the noise of the party-goers yet still close and walkable to everything.

More amenities in the bathroom and room. Better water pressure from the shower.

The beach is in front of the rooms which is great. it is very convenient because it is located in Puerto Viejo Downtown and therefore you can walk to the bars, restaurants, stores etc..

There is no TV, there is no air conditioning

A great value for price

A great value for price. We stayed for two nights. The accomodation was clean, there was a fridge and an air conditioner. The place is located just next to the beach, we could see if from our windows and go there anytime we wanted. Also walking distance to the center of Puerto Viejo, but far enough to be a calm and silent place, so that we could sleep withouth any interruptions. The staff is really nice and helpful. No problems with extending the stay, checking in and out or storing our luggage after checking out. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

The safe seemed not to be working.

Amazing location in Puerto Viejo

The best thing about this place is the location - you can't stay closer to the beach in Puerto Viejo than this, despite you can't swim in the sea beacuse of the rocks. The hotel has a beautiful garden and a nice shared area / kitchen. Private parking was possible on site.

Rooms probably were renovated a bit but still seemed a bit aged and we did not have that feeling that makes you really comfortable.
