Great quiet location and owners were really friendly, even shared some of their birthday cake.
Breakfast very enjoyable, good omelette, toast & jam, plate of fruit and a cafetiere of coffee (2 cups) all for 1000 LKR .
Use of kitchen and a balcony to watch the world go by.

We were welcomed straight away by the owner’s wife, who was lovely company during our stay (and cooked amazing food).
The included Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious and we paid for a dinner time meal which was really tasty.
We learnt about the history of Hikkaduwa and the hostel’s origins back in the 1970s, which was super interesting and made the stay feel more personal.
The owner can arrange tuktuks for local tours at a fair price, so we took advantage of this.
The rooms are basic but have everything you need, and the balcony area was our favourite chilling area - there’s a fan out there to help you stay cool.

Came back a second time, Mr Wimal and his family are exceptionally kind hearted and welcoming. This felt like our home away from home. The food is clean and fresh, very delicious and the breakfasts are incredible. Cannot recommend enough, the location is fantastic close to beaches and shops and restaurants. I am yet to find someone who did not enjoy their stay here.
