Great venue, all the conveniences, great beach access, plenty of beach loungers. Breakfast was filling and plenty of it.
The package tourist feel of the place, which is obviously set up for the Italian package tourist. However, my room was far away from all those goings on, and was very quiet and peaceful.

What we liked most about Gecko Resort was its beautiful location right on the beach. The large pool at the back of the property was also a nice feature. Some of the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming.
Gecko Resort shares its property with an Italian BRAVO Resort, which makes the atmosphere feel a little less exclusive. Some of the facilities, such as the pool, are also starting to look somewhat run-down and could use some maintenance. And the Front Desk Staff at Reception was not really friendly.
The breakfast was disappointing as it didn’t quite meet our expectations. We ended up buying some granola and cheese ourselves to have a better selection.
The food at the restaurant was okay, but considering the prices, we found that there are several other restaurants in Watamu where you can eat better food for less money.
