The 1:1 Sound Healing, the Yoga, exceptional spa treatments. Most of the front desk and restaurant staff's service was exceptional.
This was my 2nd stay at the retreat and 3rd visit to the retreat. I'd give the first 4 days 9/10 and the last two days 3/10. If you are travelling solo for a meditation sound healing/yoga retreat your experience will depend on if theres a 3 week yoga teacher training running.... and if additional large groups of 10 are also booked into the resort. Noisy and or smoking Then the whole retreat expeeience is gone.
Ground floor deluxe bedroom had a dehumidifuer as well as aircon because the ground floor rooms can get damp. I have asthma so i asked to pay to upgrade to the only other available room 2 bedroom suite.
I stayed 6 nights total 2 in Suite and 4 in the Penthouse (penthouse). For 22 days there was a Yoga Teacher training They are taking over 1st floor of restaurant for all meals so other guest cannot dine there and the main open air yoga studio. I particularly like to sit upstairs to dine as it is peaceful with beautiful views. upstairs dining therefore only available after 8.45pm. Staff reluctantly took a food orders at 8.50 / 9pm, though last orders were 9.30pm. Staff didnt attend the first floor again to check if anything was needed. I cleaned and set my own table 2 nights. Yoga training microphone instruction audible at pool. As well as Yoga training. On my final 2 nights there were 2 additional large groups. 1 group was loud the other large group congregated at the pool smoking and in the garden smoking area till very late. I didnt find this in keeping with a meditation, wellness, yoga retreat. The restaurant staff seemed overwhelmed at the weekend catering to multiple large groups, solo diners overlooked and plates were left all day on loungers at the pool. Also asked for plates to be collected from my room 3 times on Saturday, houskeeping once and restaurant twice and it was still there on Sunday.
Finally as i was checking at 12pm on Sunday i walked past empty spa rooms. There were still 2 hours before i left for the airport. I asked the young receptionist if i could maybe change my clothes in a spa room before leaving for the airport. I was told "you can change in the toilet".

Good food, pool with nice scenery, complimentary yoga. We came back for second time.
Quiet and peaceful atmosphere..
Towels are very old.
Staffs are kind and always try to accommodate our request. However we personally didn’t feel warmth from them… they seem to do their job properly but not with feeling. Some staffs are very kind to my son but some don’t really acknowledge him and no special treat to kid.
Normally Indonesian people are very friendly to kids so maybe I had too much expectation from them? Or maybe this retreat don’t welcome kids so long it’s retreat and appreciate quietness.
We still hope to come back again next time!
