the room was clean, the bathroom and shower were updated with new shower hardware, great water pressure and hot water. The location was excellent and I took the bus around kyoto for sightseeing. The bus routes were very close and comprehensive. Breakfast was varied.
Room was a little small and cramped for 2 beds but I was 1 person so it wasn't a problem for me. Would have been challenging with 2+ people though.

The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. We loved the spa in the hotel and the fact that they left us special clothes to go down to the spa area (separated into male and female spas since you have to go naked). They also provided sachets of facial treatments in the foster for guests to help themselves.
All in all a great stay.

Good location (depending on what you wanted to do)
Staff was helpful when needed and polite
Breakfast was basic but fresh (western food)
Even though we got fresh towels there was no room cleaning.
The worse thing was the incredibly hard bed and the most awful pillow Iv ever attempted to sleep on!
