This was our second stay at Citadela, which probably says more than anything else. The apartment is in a wonderful old palace, right in the heart of Split and just steps from the main square. We especially love the little flower-filled balcony, our own Romeo and Juliet balcony above the old town.
The apartment is beautifully renovated, comfortable, and exceptionally well equipped. The kitchen really has everything, including all the small things that are so often missing in holiday apartments: spices, different cooking oils, paper towels, and much more. The bathroom is modern and very nicely done. Blanša even leaves some local liquor for her guests.
And Blanša is simply a lovely host: warm, welcoming, and generous. Everything is thoughtfully prepared, and the apartment feels cared for rather than merely rented out.
For us, Citadela has everything we want in Split: an old building full of character, that wonderful little balcony, a perfect central location, and a very comfortable apartment. We loved coming back and hope to return again.

The apartment is located right in the heart of the old town in a very historic building. Enter through the old door into the atrium with its ancient well and wall carvings. One set of stairs to the apartment. You will be greeted by the most kind and effusive host. The apartment is equipped like it is someone's home. Everything you will need for a comfortable stay. The julienne balcony is so pretty and is probably one of the most photographed sights in the city. A great spot for people watching.
The only draw back to such a central location is the street noise day and night. People are constantly walking by so I wore earplugs to get a good night's sleep.

The property is in a great location for old town, close to parking ( expensive ), clean, comfortable bed.
The noise, can’t believe no one mentions the noise from 7.30-1am from the restaurant underneath
