Peaceful setting with the friendliest hosts/staff. Great local Belizean dishes served. Lots of options for day trips near by. Nice forest trails with lots of diversity.
Only a few things walking distance we were glad we had a rental car.

It was peaceful and beautiful. Dr. Roy is Inc radically knowledgeable and a wonderful host. Drina is the most amazing cook ever food was awesome. The people were just amazing. They were friendly kind and so helpful.
Mosquitoes. We were there in August

Staff was very friendly and accommodating, giving us great information about buses and the local area. We saw iguanas and horses right outside the door, and the whole resort part of the one of the seven villages that make up the community baboon sanctuary, which is incredible. The howler monkeys were just across the road. Their dogs are so friendly and escorted us to the local shops, about 2 mile walk under torrential rain!
We would definitely stay again.
There was a scorpion in the bath when we arrived! But to be honest, we don't think it's anything the staff could have done about it as the place is quite literally in the middle of the rainforest, and they hide all day and we arrived late at night (which the staff had very kindly accommodated).

the place is very well kept and the staff very helpful and welcoming
Since its far from anywhere else the only food option is the hotel restaurant, food it’s homemade but overpriced

Nice grounds with birds. Convenient for Community Baboon Sanctuary. Very clean.
Room very basic. Restaurant struggled with vegetarianism. Canoe trip disappointing.

Excellent breakfast. I really enjoyed typical Belizean food. Ideal location for nature lovers and birdwatchers. If any one wants to see howler monkeys, this is the ideal location. The owner, Dr. Roy is a humble and down to earth person who is very helpful. This resort is safe, calm and quite place.

It was so peaceful! The sounds are magnificent- roosters, sheep, horses, and birds. Roy is very knowledgeable and more than willing to help one w/anything.

it’s in the jungle. it’s relaxing and beautiful. the animals are everywhere
it was off the beaten path so 45 min drive to any excursion

Staff were so nice and Roy was welcoming and didn't hesitate to share
knowledge about his land, the trees, monkeys...
Food was delicious and homemade.
But the best part was waking up to jungle sounds and a family of monkey's outside our window.
Just amazing.
We did the monkey tour in the morning and even if we didn't spot any monkeys on the tour itself, our guide Russell was great and we learned a lot about the land and other insects and plants.
A must see if going to Belize!
Everything was great. But it is a reserve, so there wasn't hot water. Not a big deal for us for 1 night.

Beautiful property, I saw so many tropical birds during my stay. Roy is a wonderful host and an amazing chef, I had dinners and breakfasts there and they were all excellent. Right next to the monkey museum where you can take the nature walk tour and see monkeys up close. I loved the hammock hung right in front of my room so much and spent much of the time in there reading.
Wifi is only at the kitchen area and doesn’t reach to the cabins at all — however it’s strong when you’re near the signal, and there are nice picnic tables so you can still enjoy the outside while doing any work.

beautiful grounds, clean, comfortable, big room, meals were good, Roy and Traci were friendly, helpful and great hosts. Kade was a terrific guide for the river cruise
just a heads up that there is a 4% service charge to use credit cards

Roy is the best. The food was great, and the monkeys were too cute. Perfect for a nature lover.

We landed in Belize on Christmas day and the host Roy meet us at the airport. From the first day in the nature resort Roy made us feel like at home! Roy is so kind, knowledgeable and helpful. He made us tasty Christmas Dinner and we all had a beer together. The meals he and his wife cooked during our stay were so delicious! He even gave us a cooking lesson - which I hope will help us to make that delicious omelette!
The properly itslef is so peaceful and beautyful, with nature all around.
During our 3 day stay we visited Lamanai ruins and thanks to Roy's recommendation - zip lining and cave tubing. Roy arranged all tours for us and they were amazing.
Thank you so much for looking after us so well! We will keep all those lovely memories in our hearts forever!

This was a great find, even though the owner was still cleaning up from the last hurricane, everything was wonderful including the grounds and the food. The bird watching was incredible even from the cabana porch.

Nice cabins in sparsely populated rural area in jungle.
The resort is adjacent to CBS Howler Monkey sanctuary (a non profit) and after small donation you can visit the nearby jungle patch where a family of monkeys lives.
Humidity in the room was high. I would suggest management to run periodically AC in dry mode for mold prophylactics.

Breakfast was very good we was provided with more than could be expected and i really loved the variety of jams that was served with the toast.
I didn't like the fact that thete was no Wifi or T.V. in our room.

A lovely and special place, on the Baboon Preserve, run by Dr Roy who is an attentive and bright host. Excursions offered were good (though each could be further enriched) we did the river trip (1.5 hrs), the “monkey walk” (30 minutes and fun up close with black howlers), and a tour of 7 local villages (4 hrs). Meals were tasty & home cooked.
This is a good place from which to go out with a guide, not a fun place to hang out… no pool, no
comfy chairs in (functional and clean) dining room where the only Wi-Fi is. No real gathering place for guests.

We had breakfast and evening meals at the resort and each were excellent. Our cabin overlooked the woods where we saw hummingbirds, bats, an agouti and an eagle that had caught a snake - amazing. We did the Baboon tour which was excellent and I would thoroughly recommend it and commend all those involved in helping these creatures. Roy, the owner was an amazing guy and even gave us a lift to the bus station in Belize.
There are midges and mosquitoes but these things go with the territory so go prepared but the good stuff way outweighs this inconvenience. Wifi is not in every cabin but is good in the main restaurant area, so do not let this put you off!

We liked that it was close to the Community Baboon Reserve.
We arrived by shuttle which they arranged but we were not told that it was an additional cost. We might have rented a car if we knew this because it also was far from everything so we were pretty much stuck there. The WIFI and airconditioning didn't work and the main owners were away from the property, so it really didn't go so well.

The host passionate about his place, gave us a little tour around the property, his fruits, trees...
It was expensive. we took an hour tour in the evening which was far overpriced. The room was not clean. But we saw a lot of monkeys despite heavy rain which made up for our discomfort

Wow what an amazing place to visit to get a taste for Belize! I visited Nature Resort with two friends, and we only had a few days but Roy (the owner) made our trip hassle free and so enjoyable. We had all our rides to and from the airport/ferry arranged, a tour to Lamanai, a nature walk to see the howler monkeys and even got a bonus swim in the Belize river. We ate breakfast and dinner at the resort, saw howler monkeys outside our room and had fresh coconuts from the property. Will be back next time I'm in Belize!

We had the most wonderful experience I think we have ever had anywhere! They treated us like family and we made friendships that will last a life time, the true Belizean experience.
Great food and great people

The resort was fabulous. Tucked in the middle of the jungle and very beautiful. We were happy with how quiet and separated we felt being there. The room had AC and the bathroom was big with a great hot shower. We also had a mini fridge and lots of storage options. The beds and bedding provided were clean and comfortable, and we had a large hammock hung up for us on the porch when we arrived. Dr. Roy was a fantastic host, he provided all our meals in a timely manner and was happy sharing his knowledge of the wildlife and area with us. We went on a guided hike with the baboon sanctuary that was on site which was really special, and we tried the first cashew fruit of the season! We were the only guests at the time of our stay so it did feel a little isolating at the time, but the privacy we experienced and freedom to explore was really unique. A note for guests : the resort is in a very small village, with limited access to societal comforts like ATMs, restaurants or shops, especially if you don't have your own vehicle. So be prepared with cash and snacks!
The room we booked was rather large for the two of us, we could have done with something a little smaller, but overall the place was really great. One thing I would change would be more access to the coffee machine on the mornings we were there, rather than just at breakfast time. We scheduled breakfast for 9am (and it was ready right on time) but we were up at the crack of dawn to listen to all the birds and monkeys.

Good food, nice people, not far from the airport in miles but far from the crowds, loved seeing the Howler Monkeys close up and meeting the local artisans. Very good experience.
