Beautifully furnished and comfortable room in a lovely small pub - the bar was full in the evenings with a packed schedule of quiz nights and live music, but we never heard the noise upstairs. Super friendly staff, very dog friendly.
No food served at the bar - but plenty of places nearby.

The Pub is super convenient for Newcastle centre. But what we liked was the bejou style comfort and style of the room, and the convenience to enjoy ourselves in an atmospheric and bustling pub. The owners had really worked hard to style the room (it is a far nicer stay than a Premier or Travelodge) and gives you everything you could want. Large TV coffee, tea, snack or two, and great ensuite. It was priced appropriately for what it offers.
Our room was unfortunately a little close to the road and once the traffic picked up in the morning, it was hard to nod back off. The hot tap on the bath/shower has a bad washer (that needs replacing. You felt you had turned it off only to hear it running later.
The room won't suit people seeking peace and tranquility, but we booked it knowing there was live music and karaoke till 11pm. So we joined the atmosphere and had a few pints and loved it.

Location, the pub, staff.
It was unbearably hot in the room. This made it impossible to sleep. There were two very small and un useful fans.
