Staying at The Sweet Retreat in Bequia was an absolute highlight of the trip. From the moment you wake up, you are treated to a breathtaking panoramic view of the bay and the surrounding islands—a sight that makes breakfast feel like a world-class experience.
The food itself is exceptional. Every morning features vibrant, fresh local fruits and artisanal bread sourced straight from a local bakery. The real showstopper, however, is the daily fresh-baked cake; Robert is a master in the kitchen, and a slice (or two!) of his latest creation is the perfect way to start the day.
Beyond the views and the food, the hospitality is what truly sets this place apart. The storytelling adds a wonderful layer of charm, offering deep insights into the island’s history and culture that you simply won't find in a guidebook. If you are looking for a stay that combines incredible scenery with genuine local flavor and warmth, this is the place to be.
One thing to keep in mind is that the island's stunning scenery comes with some diverse terrain. Since the landscape isn't flat, you'll definitely get your steps in while exploring! It is a great excuse to stretch your legs and stay active, just be sure to bring comfortable walking shoes so you can fully enjoy the incredible vantage points the hills provide.

Exceptional location with beautiful view of the bay. Very quick to get to Lower Bay Beach for relaxing or snorkeling on the small reef. The owner is extremely helpful and can arrange any activities or transportation you need during your stay.
The walk up from the beach is steep but short.
