Great hotel with a beautiful green decor and a lovely pool. The room was modern, spacious and very comfortable. The staff is friendly, welcoming and helpful. We had a wonderful stay !

We have had an absolutely wonderful stay at Tropical Trails - we have been incredibly welcome and well looked after.
Our stay was 3 nights but we enjoyed it so much that we tried to extend by another night which, sadly, was not possible due to our following booking in Colombo.
The property is set in lush, expansive tropical grounds which make it feel very secluded and private. Everything is spotlessly clean and immaculately maintained despite being fully immersed in nature.
Our 2-bedroom villa was up the hill from the main building (which is brand new and the decor looks beautiful!) and had a view of the sea beyond the glorious green canopy and a large veranda where our daughter laid on the hammock to read her book and the rest of us sat at the table to play board games one afternoon, while it rained. In one of the rooms, there is an outdoor bathroom with the shower under the open roof which we absolutely loved. Details worth mentioning are: a living room between the 2 bedrooms, safety deposit box in both rooms, super comfortables beds and mosquito nets over the four posters, high ceilings with fans as well as great AC, and excellent internet connectivity.
The owner, Danuka, and his wife treated us to the most delicious and generous breakfasts each morning. She is an extraordinarily brilliant and creative cook - they fed us the best Sri Lankan breakfasts we have had during our entire stay in the country (12 days). Both owners as well as the staff were exceptionally warm, attentive and genuinely caring - everything was thoughtfully taken care of and the hospitality really stood out.
Tropical Trails truly exceeded our expectations and we are delighted to have found this gem in Unawatuna. Our stay has been exactly the break we needed and we will definitely book again if we come back to this part of the country.

Un magnifique hotel aux chambres luxueuses et confortables et pourtant complètement intégré à la jungle environnante. Nous avons réservé le chalet dont la terrasse offre une vue très plaisante sur la mer et un accès direct à la piscine en contrebas. La salle de bains est incroyable, à ciel ouvert et construite autour de la roche. Nous avons eu la chance de profiter d’un délicieux petit déjeuner très copieux et le personnel a été très délicat et attentionné. Ce fut pour nous une expérience très appréciée.

A heartfelt thank you to the owners for their warm hospitality. A beautiful place in the middle of nature, very close to the beach. The pool was clean and amazing, and the breakfast was the best. Special thanks to Danuka and Saduni. An unforgettable stay. Highly recommended! 🌴❤️
