Throughout the home are clear pine whitewashed floors and tastefully painted, original pine tongue and grove wall coverings. The kitchen and baths all have, maple cabinets with Granite counter tops. In the kitchen you will find all necessary appliances for your convenience including combination electric cook top/stove, dishwasher, 1000 watt built in microwave and refrigerator with ice maker. Each bathroom has maple cabinets with granite tops and period MCM faucets and fixtures. Each bathroom has a tub/shower combo for any family members specific bathing needs. Featuring 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths, there is enough room for six of you and your family or friends to enjoy this beautiful location. We had a great time!!! House was small but clean for our girls weekend of 6. Says it sleeps 8 which it will but seating in living room and at kitchen table is for 6. Awesome fire pit out back with great sitting area. Volleyball court for those that like to play. Little path over dune to beach. Kitchen dining area was open and spacious. Chris was very quick to respond to text messages.

We rented this house to serve as the meeting place for a group of volleyball friends. I stayed with my family and one other family. Sunrises, easy access to the beach, the yard, and the fire pit were the highlight of our stay. The house is cute and cozy. It had everything we needed, but we mostly spent our time outside. The yard is sand which allowed for the younger kids to play while we played volleyball. Admittedly, we didn’t get to play as much volleyball as we hoped because there are cacti growing around the perimeter of the property and all three of our balls popped. So, if you plan to play volleyball, don’t bring your best balls. The location is close enough to the boardwalk to make everything really easily accessible. I would 100% stay there again.

This home is identical to the listing and images. The bedrooms were all spacious and the place was clean for the most part. We did find some hairs in one of the showers and the towels had some light stains on them, but these are things I’d expect to find at most rentals and overall the space was clean. The best part about this rental was the location. We were near everything we wanted to do like the battleship, aquarium, and food places. And the best part was being able to walk out the door and right out to the beach. Great location! The only real negative we had was just that the tv in the living room you can access Netflix through the Xbox. Which for my older in-laws was a very hard task, and the other tv isn’t usable unless you bring a fire stick or something to stream with. This is mentioned in the listing but we just had no idea how limiting it could be to use the tv’s. Thankfully we had plenty of other things to keep us occupied. The owner is very nice, and quick to respond. We had a great vacation, and the rental overall was great, just be prepared for the tv if you are older!

We are a family of 5 with kids ranging in age 15-19. This house was perfect for us. We spent most of our time in the yard playing volleyball and other outdoor games. It was also nice to have restaurants within a mile walk and the ocean so close. I enjoyed sitting on the deck in the morning with my coffee looking at the ocean. Loved this house!

We stayed a week with 4 adults and 3 grandkids- 2,4,6. Absolute blast, all only crying was when we left. 50 steps from beach access, across the street is soft serve ice cream. The back yard is remarkably private. We will be back 👍

We were looking for an easy access beach front property for my family and my sister in law/ BILs family. We had 6 people- 2 toddlers and 4 adults. This house was perfect! A great kitchen, cozy living room with a play area, and the rooms were just perfect for the 6 of us! Chris made everything perfect. Would come back here 500x more times. Such a relaxing vacation and great area!

The home has a very comfortable beachy feel. We loved our stay and Chris was very responsive to any questions we had. The house was clean with all the amenities you would need. We stayed for a week and loved every minute. If the evenings are a little chilly (which a couple were), the fire pit was a great way for us to still be outside and enjoy the atmosphere and also keep the chill off. The little extras that Chris leaves for his guests are also a very cool touch. We have stayed in many VRBO's and this is the first time the host left a memento. Thanks for letting us share your home.......I am sure we will be back!!

We thoroughly enjoyed having our coffee each morning on the deck with a perfect view of the beach, hearing the waves crashing and watching the sunrise as its rays sparkled across the ocean. We watched the boats go by and even a glimpse or more of dolphins!!
The backyard is truly unique!!
Having our very own private beach with everything you would need including a fire pit, surrounded with Adirondack chairs and umbrella! (which we used every day/night!)
Had fun playing badminton (that we brought) using the full volleyball net in the backyard beach area!
The kitchen area was a good size and open, allowing plenty of room to move around while we all pitched in to prepare our meals.
It was a great vacation and we would certainly choose

We really enjoyed staying at this cute little property right on the beach. It was an easy walk, just under a mile, to the boardwalk. There were tons of stores and restaurants within walking distance. The owner was great, very helpful, and super easy to work with! The house was clean and in great condition. I highly recommend!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at A Summer’s Rest. We stay on the beach most of the time and liked the short walk. We also made good use of the backyard sand court for volleyball and cornhole in the evenings before it got dark. Firepit was nice too! I enjoyed coffee & devotions each morning while looking out on the ocean - so beautiful! We found the furniture and beds to be very comfortable. Some good places to eat & drink within walking distance; & ice cream right across the street! A wonderful home away from home for a week! Also spent a morning touring downtown Wilmington and a day on the drive on beach at Fort Fisher.

We had a wonderful time at this property! The house was very cute and just the right size for 4 adults and 2 kids. It was clean and well kept up. The beds were not very comfortable, but for a week we could deal with them. Linens were clean and the house was well stocked. The TV was run through the X-Box and somehow that diluted the WiFi so much that we couldn't really watch any TV and while a couple of people were frustrated about that, the rest of us loved the time to completely disconnect. The kids had fun playing around the volleyball net and sitting around the firepit was a great way to spend the evening after getting ice cream from the little place across the street! The short walk to the beach was through the next door property over to the boardwalk, but it wasn't bad at all, it only took about a minute to get to the boardwalk and then you were at the beach. Overall, it was a great weekend and we will rent here again the next time we do a beach vacation!

Summerest is Awesome. This was our first immediate family vacation and everything was great. We had to call Chris one time and the situation was handled quickly and professionally. The back deck & sand yard, with a volleyball net, corn hole and fire pit, was a plus. The walkway to the beach was so convenient. Would definitely book again.

Overall amazing stay!
My four girlfriends and I stayed in this house for Memorial Day weekend and we had an amazing time! Chris was very attentive and available for any questions we had. The house was very clean and had everything we needed to have a great vacation! The amenities were all in good condition and exactly as described. The location is perfect - right on the beach with ocean views from the porch and right near many restaurants and an ice cream shop! We enjoyed everything Carolina Beach had to offer including the farmers market on Saturday morning, the fun night life on the boardwalk, and riding bikes through the tree lined neighborhoods. A 10/10 stay would definitely recommend to the next guest!

Charming, comfortable, clean house
My girlfriends and I stayed here last weekend. Our plan was to participate in the annual Lo Tide Run, however, weather was not our friend and the race was cancelled. No problem, though, because we had this lovely and charming house to relax in! It was spotless, uncluttered and comfortable. We loved visiting The Spot, a nearby bar with good food. We also ventured to the Boardwalk - a bit of a walk but we didn't mind. Overall, we had a wonderful time and loved this house! Thanks for hosting us, Chris!
