All the wonderful things said about this lodge are true. This is clearly a place that is highly regarded nationwide. The staff was absolutely excellent. The room was large, cozy, and comfortable. The food was delicious, and the roads leading up there weren't nearly as bad as I was expecting. Highly recommended for any stay short or long.
Please be aware that they have a castle on the grounds that hosts large, loud events (e.g. weddings, social parties, boxing matches, etc.) that can run into the night. You probably want to inquire about what's going on there during your stay, so you don't wind up with any surprises. I booked my room last minute, so that's totally on me. But the manager gave me a heads up, which I truly appreciated.
