Outstanding.. one of those rare occasions that I am torn between giving the hotel a well deserved excellent review and wanting to keep it a secret! Wonderful reuse of the old naval officers' residence from the mid-60s. Great vibe; restaurant, cafe/bar space open to late on site is ideal for working or meeting people. Then the sauna on the waterfront right in front of the hotel appeals, although I had too much work and not enough time to organise a booking of it.
Just two issues: the lack of a shower curtain or glass door, meaning a carefree shower saturates the bathroom. I understand that there might have been an accessibility imperative to not adding a door to the bathroom but a shower curtain, although a maintenance hassle, would very much improve the usability of the bathroom. The other issue might not concern most guests. The single room did not have a desk. Fortunately the bar/cafe area is upon until 11 so could work there. Later I was on the bed with the laptop which was not optimal. Hopefully next stay I won't need to be working so much!
