Good clean Hotel with friendly staff but disappointing food.

The room was spacious and clean. We booked the deluxe family room room 106. The staff were friendly and helpful through out our stay. The beds were comfortable and the linen was fresh. Tea making facilities were plenty full with complimentary bottled water.

There is no room service at this hotel. The lighting in our room was in our opinion a little dull. The food served in the dining area was disappointing. Cold over cooked eggs Benedict and an at best warm large breakfast which was sent back. The replacement food was ok though 2nd time round.

I won’t bother looking for a hotel next time, I will automatically go back to you again

Breakfast fine. Until the hotel was recommended to me I didn’t actually know Wetherspoon’s had hotels! Room very comfortable, staff friendly and polite. Very well placed to explore Tavistock. Will definitely be back. A very easy to use hotel, which isn’t always the case.

I’ve thought hard and can’t think of a problem caused by Wetherspoon’s. I sometimes got a bit confused finding my table in the bar area but that’s a combination of my poor sense of direction and the architecture of the building you took over.

Disappointing

Location was perfect.

Room very noisy. 103 Could hear people taking next door. Woken up at 4.30am by an elephant above us parading around the the room till about 5.30. Room was not smelling very nice either.

NOT AS IMPRESSED AS WE WERE LAST YEAR - WONT BOTHER RETURNING

Room was clean, this mornings team member who got me a spare key was excellent

Welcome not good - not a patch on last year's really good welcome - key issued for top floor room and it didnt work, had to come back downstairs, find another member of staff and get another cut. Only one key issued so wife had to sit in the dark (no aircon anyway) whilst I went to the car. Pillow absolutely useless, about 2 inches thick and flattened against the mattress when head put upon it, tried to fold it without success. Room was horrendous as the air conditioning was not working (hottest rooms at the top as hot air rises), not sure that this would have been the first time it was noticed. Consequentially the room was exceptionally hot, so hot that it dehydrated us during the night and my wife had a headache and sinus issues from it. Not impressed. Didnt bother dining with the service we got. Left early to get into a decent temperature. Something has changed in this Wetherspoons from last year to the detriment of customer service, not a patch on other locations we have stayed in. Wont bother returning.

Exceptional

Very warm welcome by helpful staff. The room was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Town is an attractive traditional market town with lots of eating places and lots to see and do in a beautiful area .

Lovely place to stay with everything you need from a hotel.

Big comfy room, warm, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milk, biscuits, water all included. Clean towels, nice shower, extra pillows, lovely old building and all staff very friendly and helpful.

Shower trap was clogged, but did't ruin my life!

A comfortable, centrally located hotel with excellent facilities in a charming historic town.

Staff were exceptionally helpful and the hotel room was well appointed, quiet and had drinks facilities. Nice fire side tables available. Possible to park on street from 5pm to 10 am adjacent to the Spoonies - resitrictions 9 am to 6pm are for 1 hour of on-street parking.

No problems at all.

An excellent overnight stay over all a pleasant experience

Check in was quick and efficient. Our room was spotless and very large. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food at the Wetherspoons was of good standard and well priced as were the drinks. I would recommend the Queens head at Tavistock for anyone looking for a stop over.

Unfortunately there was no car park and on street parking outside was limited to one hour from 9am to 6pm There are longer stay car parks near by but they are a short walking distance away. Ok if you arrive at 5pm and leave before 10am the next day as we did.

Exceptional

Pleasantly surprised with the room - perfectly stocked with tea/coffee/hot chocolate and even some biscuits and bottles of water. The room was so spacious and clean and the staff were very adaptable with check in. Perfect place to crash!
