Loved chatting with the owner, setting was beautiful! Loved walking out on the property.unique setting.
Dirt, gravel road to get there, it should be noted in the listing. Once you got there, you didn’t want to leave. Had we known we would have purchased food to make dinner!!

Breakfast was delicious, the room was spacious and clean. The location was stunning as well. The best part was the proprietor who was a fascinating local figure it turns out! If you get a chance, do engage with him if you're interested in the local area and Iceland in general.
The only remotely negative aspect is going to be personal but the location is off the beaten track a bit and can be a slightly daunting drive in the dark and rain to less experienced drivers. We were fine but I can see how not everyone would be. I'd still recommend it despite this though.

Kolkuos Guesthouse is a gorgeous guesthouse in a stunning location. We had no idea it would be so serene and surrounded by nature! It is the kind of place we would like to return and stay longer. We would also like to visit the nearby Icelandic Emigration Center. Our host was extremely personable and welcoming, and we were very glad that we bought the breakfast so we could meet him and speak with him. The breakfast and coffee were delicious.

Walls and floor very thin….neighbors were very noisy. No door on bathroom. No washcloths. No one available to ask question. No complimentary coffee.
