The history and the location.

This is a mind-blowing experience. Part of this castle dates to the 12th century. Much of it built in the 16th and 17th. It is possible to explore the amazing castle and grounds. It is truly a step back in time. We were warmly greeted by the castle manager (who later served us a drink and played beautiful piano at dinner). Also, the owner came in to tell us of the castle's background in addition to her own history. It made for a very personal experience.
The castle is ancient so it is hard to fault some of the small inconveniences and touches in need of attention. If you go, know that the bathrooms are not ensuite (preservation laws do not allow it). But the nearby bath was very modern and clean.

The castle was very spooky and is really old. But absolutely beautiful
