Max Safari Villa was nice and cozy place to stay in Udawalawe. Location is good, near of national park and baby elephants home. There are different safari options available. It was worth it to see many different animals. Breakfast and dinner was also really good.

The hotel’s safari tour guy did not speak much english. The owner sort of made us buy a ride to our next destination from him by ”knowing” the available drivers. Because of this we felt that the possibility for price tendering was made difficult in the small town of Udawalawe.

Room was very clean. Owner was very nice and kind. Breakfast was delicious!

Max’s Safari Villa was exceptional. The guesthouse is fabulous-clean, comfortable and very welcoming. Max will organise the best safari-his drivers are so skilled and knowledgeable and work hard to give you a unique experience. Our safari was a highlight of our trip!! And on top of all this the food that Max’s mum prepares is so delicious. Look no further -this is the best place to stay!

The room had everything we needed. It was very clean and spacious. I do not think the pictures on booking make a justice to a property, as the garden and surroundings of the villas has beautiful atmosphere. However we did not enjoy it that much, as it was raining during our stay most of the time. Safari organized through Max Safari Villa is also amazing and we saw lot of elephants and other animals as well. I do not understand how our driver could spot even the smallest animals to show us. We were very satisfied by this trip. The breakfast was very tasty.

The room and the bathroom were very clean. The villa is very nice and has a lovely patio and garden. The owner is very helpfull and arranged us a taxi to Ella at very short notice. The breakfast was delicious. You can also book a safari directly with them. We highly recommend this place to stay.

What an amazing hotel. Max, the owner, is heartwarming and caring for his guests. The room was clean to the spot, the bathroom was amazingly big and clean too. Now listen to this: we've been in 13 hotels before Max Safari Villa and none of them had the amenities we got here. Each guest gets 2 towels, the shower is separated from the bathroom, there is an extra towel for your feet when you get out of the shower (if you've travelled Sri Lanka you will appreciate this small detail for real!) There is shower gel and shampoo for free. Hot water with good pressure is available. The bed was comfy, AC working perfectly, a moskito net was in place and each room had an amazing patio outside. The whole design of the room was consistent and you could see and feel that somebody put a lot of thought into an amazing stay for his guests. Oh, and did I mention the mini fridge, electric kettle, tea & coffee and bottled water you got in the room. Outstanding, truly outstanding. The price for value is incredible and the dinner and breakfast are too. Book here now, all your wishes will be fulfilled here.

Max is super friendly, he speaks English well and he organized a private jeep safari tour in Udawalawe Park for us. The driver is very experienced, he knew where to go to find elephants and other animals. We loved the breakfast in the park! The room is clean, the surroundings very calm. I think it was a good value for money.

Comms pre arrival was helpful and prompt. Max is a great host and the layout of his place is really nice. Rooms comfortable clean and spacious - dining area is convenient if eating in. His staff are likewise excellent and reliable. We would definitely recommend and stay again if we return.

Personal service, home cooking, safari which was organised by the owner. The rooms were well appointed, with air con, tea and coffee, large beds and good showers. Lovely setting amongst tropical trees.

Super friendly host! We had a delicious dinner and a super good organized and interesting Half Day Safari with our guide and jedem driver from Max Safari Villa. He knows everything about the animals and about the national park and was super professional and very kind. We can highly recommend a tour with Max Safari.

Max arranged our Safari and it was amazing! Also Max was super helpful in organizing a ride for us to Ella and took us to the right bus station. The breakfast was really good!

Rooms are spacious and clean. They serve homemade breakfast and dinner, both are very tasty and delicious. The owner is super helpful and organized safari, transfer, excursions etc for us. All in all a great stay!

My stay there was absolutely great. I really enjoyed the room. It was comfortable and very clean. I also had my breakfast and dinner there. Highly recommend that, as the food was super diverse and delicious. Max was really helpful and accommodating. I also did the Safari with him. Can recommend that as well. Very fair price and a good tour.

Amazing place in a beautiful setting! The rooms are really comfortable, spacious and well furnished. And the home-cooked food was awesome, some of the tastiest food I had on my trip! Max is super friendly and helpful. There are are nice new safari jeeps here and ready to go, at the same price as elsewhere, so it's very easy to arrange a safari to Udawalawe National Park.

We liked everything! Clean and comfortable rooms, well equipped- there was even coffe and tea to make in the room if you want. We really loved our stay there and Max was extremly kind and he arranged everything for us, even the fantastic safari trip. He made wondeful brekfast,snacks and dinner for us, the food was amazing! We are sorry we couldn't stay a bit longer..everything was wondeful! Thank you Max for everything, we really appreciate it :))

Max Safari Villa is a great place with wonderful people. Max is a very nice host who takes care of guests from the beginning to the end of the stay, and even longer, because he cared about whether we got safely to the next destination by bus. We had a wonderful safari with a very nice guide who was also a jeep driver. The next day Max offered to drive us to the Elephant Transit Home in Udawalawe, where we saw lots of little orphan elephants feeding. At the end of our stay, my little daughter got a wooden elephant from Max as a souvenir (which was so kind) and we were escorted to the bus stop. The hospitality of the hosts of Max Safari Villa far exceeded my expectations. Breakfast and dinner prepared by Max's mum were delicious, everything was fresh and beautifully presented. We had fresh fruit juices and delicious homemade vanilla ice cream. The room and bathroom are very nice and clean and have everything you need: air conditioning, mosquito net, very comfy bed, kettle with coffee and tea, the bathroom has hot water and a hair dryer. The facility is beautifully maintained, well-maintained, surrounded by lush vegetation. We couldn't have found better place to stay and and I whole-heartedly recommend Max Safari Villa. Thank you very much for your hospitality and kindness :-)

Very nice stay with a friendly host and a warm welcome. The rooms in the bungalows are spacious, comfortable and very clean. We enjoyed a tasty "Christmas barbecue" with the family and felt at home. We can only recommend a stay in this guesthouse!
