Enjoyable stay in an historic setting!

The Jockey Club is a lovely building in the heart of Newmarket. Very convenient for local services and restaurants - Montaz being an exceptional Indian restaurant and the best dining option in the town by far. Location was as good as it gets for Newmarket. Cambridge is 30 mins drive, and there is much to see within a short distance. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent! It is worth noting the is is a private members club, and as such there is a dress code and certain rules that are worth noting prior to the visit, although they were not too demanding! The overall atmosphere was great!

Great place, just needs a bar.

Great location right in the town centre. Good access to a large, safe free car park. Rooms good size and bathrooms nicely appointed. Comfortable beds and free wi-fi.

No facilities. The Jockey Club was not open to guests and there was no bar at all. As people went to or vacated their rooms the corridor doors banged very loudly. It's not really a hotel, more like private apartments.

A first-class experience of the world of horse racing in Newmarket. A lovely, memorable stay.

If you want a first-class experience of the world of horse racing in Newmarket, this should be your choice: lovely historic building, spacious comfortable rooms, professional and friendly staff, delicious breakfast. The maitre d', James, was especially kind and helpful.

Excellent property with top service.

Excellent location, loads of parking, property needs to be seen to be believed, worth at least one night if you're in the area. Rooms are spacious added bonus of huge bath, good breakfast choice.

Excellent accommodation, great service and a lovely breakfast!

Location was good in the heart of Newmarket and 2 mins from Newmarket Racecourse. Room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. All the staff were friendly and attentive. Overall a great place to stay!

Wish we could have stayed longer

Breakfast was amazing in a wonderful room. We loved the art and sense of history everywhere. Our bedroom was beautiful and the bathroom was great. Loved the view from our room over the gardens and your staff were excellent. Thanks so much.

The bed wasn't too comfortable with the split down the middle and also rather hard - a topper might help?)

Two great nights of sleep and breakfasts at a fantastic location for walking to watch the racing.

Great location and interesting history. Bed was comfortable and breakfast was tasty. Good to have secure car parking.

Some of the carpets were a little tired but in keeping with the property.

Exceptional place to stay

Exceptional. Probably the nicest room I’ve ever stayed in. Comfortable beds and beautifully decorated. Huge bathroom with great bath and shower. Beautiful property and exceptional staff. Delicious breakfast.We arrived very late at night and were still welcomed at the door. We didn’t want to leave.

Excellent location, ample parking, quite pleasant room, large well equipped bathroom, nice view onto lawn.

Unwelcoming entrance, totally boring as main rooms not open to the public on a Wednesday so felt stuck sitting in Room 1 (we had already explored Newmarket). Pleased to get home.

If you’re a horse racing fan or interested in history then it’s an amazing place to stay.

It was a privilege to stay in a place with such an important role in horse racing history. It felt like staying in a country house in a bye gone era. My room was very spacious with a great shower.

It felt at times like you were intruding on the day to day business of the club.

Unique and relaxing

It was wonderful, luxurious comfort. staff exceptionally polite and helpful. Historically, very interesting and staff keen to show us around and share their knowledge of the building and the art etc. Quiet and peaceful, lovely, well kept grounds and terrace.

Very good

100% exceptional venue The one and only downside being low level DIN from nightclub/pub obviously near bye which created a problem dropping off to sleep till ceasing We are OAP couple so don't frequent local nightlife hence tend to retire about 9-30/10-00pm

Lovely location & building

Friendly welcome and shown to our room. Very large room with a huge bathroom! Well equipped. Loads of parking. Pretty building, tastefully done.

Lift was out of order and we had heavy work equipment we had to struggle upstairs with. Limited dress code and no on site bar facilities during the day we were there.

Great hotel, great location and we have brilliant weather as a bonus.

The room was great with lovely views over one of the race horse paddocks. The hotel was also right in the middle of Newmarket so access to the shops and sights was easy.

I cannot fault the hotel at all !!!
